Apparently, Jill Kelley was an honorary consul to S. Korea. It is an unpaid post with no duties and it has to be approved by the US State Department. Her honorary ID card reads “The bearer shall be treated with due respect.” To me that means nothing but to Jill Kelley it means she gets diplomatic privileges.
In the Tampa Bay Times, it is reported that she told them the following:
“Btw I was made the (honorary) Ambassador to US Central Command’s Coalition!” she told aTimes reporter in a Sept. 28 email. “In addition to that, I was just recently appointed to be the Honorary Consulate General to South Korea! I’m in DC today — just left from breakfast at the White House. . . . I really hope to see you soon!”
She had breakfast at the White House on September 28th? Curious.
