He’s baaaack. President Carter, whose Presidency was marked by race-baiting and anti-semitic comments, is back and he’s talking. In a failed effort to make himself relevant on the national and world stage, he has called for the Palestinian state to be recognized by the UN as Obama is trying to stop exactly that.
Carter wants the UN proposal for Palestinian statehood to be approved. I agree that Palestinians need a state, but not what is being proposed, which means a return to pre-1967 borders, which would include Jerusalem or at least East Jerusalem.
Carter has falsely called Israel an Apartheid state, ignoring the fact that Israel is a free nation which ensures free rights to each of its citizens, unlike her neighbors.
lf Carter’s wish is fulfilled, one effect would be immediate and unreasonable demands from every distant descendant of a Palestinian to be repatriated with the sole purpose of destroying Israel.
In addition, such an acceptance by the UN would make Israel’s borders indefensible, but what does this megalomaniac care? Disengenuously, Carter is blaming Obama’s inaction on a peace proposal for his (Carter) having to make these recommendations.
“As an alternative to a deadlock and a stalemate now, we reluctantly support the Palestinian move for recognition,” Carter said on Tuesday at the Carter Center in Atlanta, according to the Associated Press. He thinks statehood at Israel’s expense would be a “real step forward,” even if they only start out as a “non-member state” in the UN.
He makes this recommendation as missiles are being lobbed into Southern Israel and the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, has formed an alliance with Hamas, a terrorist organization dedicated to the complete and utter destruction of Israel. Carter has also called for Hamas to be taken off the list of terror groups.
Carter said peace in the Middle East would only come if Israel would “withdraw from the occupied territories and that’s something that so far the Israeli government has been unable to do.” Click here to read more
Carter doesn’t understand one simple fact – you can’t negotiate with terrorists, especially those committed to destroying our ally. It’s not as if Hamas hasn’t said it enough times. Until Palestinians abandon Hamas, Israel cannot negotiate. It’s a fact Obama appears to understand as the gnat-like Carter buzzes about him uttering this anti-semitic nonsense.
Do you doubt that Carter is anti-semitic? Carter told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Israeli Knesset (a day after Netanyahu’s June 14 speech), “In my opinion, Netanyahu brought up several obstacles to peace in his speech that others before him have not placed. He insists on settlement expansion and demands that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state, even though 20% of Israel’s citizens are not Jewish.” So, Israel is an obstacle even though the Arabs won’t recognize Israel as a state?
