The ACLU believes that the KKK has a first amendment right to adopt-a-highway and they will defend the Klu Klux Klan in their failed bid to adopt a highway. The KKK was turned down by the Georgia Department of Highways last month when they applied to adopt a highway.
What’s next? The Taliban?
When DOT turned them down, they said they only accept “civic-minded organization(s) in good standing.” That sounds good to me.
The ACLU hasn’t decided on their strategy.
In 2005, a federal court ordered Missouri to allow the KKK’s bid to adopt a highway.
