Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez and other Southern California bishops announced Saturday that they will help 2.4 million legal permanent residents become citizens by offering practical assistance.
The Catholic Church and other religious groups have been the single most helpful intermediaries in the movement to help illegal immigrants.
The church says their struggle is about the people not politics but their rush to push the 2.4 million towards citizenship will be in time for the November elections.
California is already lost but there are still some Republicans to wipe out.
They made their statements at a summit of 400 parish leaders across Southern California where they discussed the “broken immigration system”. They did not discuss the fact that Obama broke it.
