One gun toting leftist lunatic executes three young Muslims in Chapel Hill and it’s a vast conspiracy according to the Muslim community.
Dr. Mohammad Abu-Salha, the father of two of the victims, Yusor Mohammad and Razan Mohammad, thinks the media is to blame for “bombarding every American every day with news about what they call Islamic terrorism, none of which is Islamic at all. They are really preparing people for such tragedies and triggering them and provoking them.”
He’s a grieving father and deserves a pass but what he is saying is extremely unfair. He wants all Americans to pretend radical Islam doesn’t exist. Our president wants us to pretend it doesn’t exist also.
Dr. Abu-Salha said “If we don’t consider this a hate crime, this can happen over and over again.”
What is the difference? All murders are hate crimes. The murderer will probably be executed. It’s not yet obvious he did it because of who the victims were.
However, Abu-Salha said his daughter Yusor had come to him more than twice about Hicks in the past. She told him Hicks hated them for how they looked and who they were. But he didn’t believe they feared for their lives.
Hicks certainly is a hater. He shot each of these three people in the back of the head. He brutally executed them.
Chief Chris Blue said, “We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated, and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of these young people who lost their lives so needlessly.”
Of course it was motivated by hate. This is an exercise in futility. It becomes nothing more than a painful academic exercise trying to determine which type of hate led to the crime. Three people are dead. The killer will suffer the same fate no matter what hate-filled reason he had.
Mr. Abu-Salha said he doesn’t care about the fate of the killer. He only cares about this being declared a racist hate crime.
Those with political agendas are out in full force.
There’s a hashtag campaign building #MuslimLivesMatter and #ChapelHillKillings. Some want this to be another Ferguson.
Do Jewish lives matter? Do the lives of Coptic Christians matter? What about the lives of Jordanian pilots or Yazidi women or Kurdish children or Nigerians?
A press release Saturday from the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Secretary General Iyad Madani called on the U.S. government to take more steps to protect against “stereotyping, discrimination and profiling.”
This is absurd. It was one madman and we aren’t even sure why he committed the crimes yet.
His wife said it was over the parking spaces.
“I can say that it is my absolute belief that this incident had nothing to do with religion or the victims’ faith, but in fact was related to long-standing parking disputes my husband had with various (neighbors) regardless of their race, religion or creed,” Karen Hicks said in a statement.
By all accounts, all his neighbors were concerned about Hicks and he was equally nasty to everyone.
Another absurdity is the Palestinian government on Saturday condemned the killings, declaring it an act of “terrorism.” Officials called on U.S. authorities to include Palestinians in their investigation. These are people who support Hamas and Hezbollah.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called Hicks an “American extremist and hateful racist,” Reuters reported.
“We consider it a serious indication of the growth of racism and religious extremism which is a direct threat to the lives of hundreds of thousands of American citizens who follow the Islamic faith,” the ministry said in a statement, calling for a serious investigation involving Palestinian investigators.
They should be more accurate and call him an American leftist extremist because that is what he is.
Erdogan of Turkey also weighed in and criticized Barack Obama for not commenting, so Obama commented, suggesting the crime was committed because of who they were and how they worshipped.
Terror-tied CAIR, the organization that wants to shut down all talk of radical Islam, also jumped on the tragedy.
“Based on the brutal nature of this crime … the religious attire of two of the victims, and the rising anti-Muslim rhetoric in American society, we urge state and federal law enforcement authorities to quickly address speculation of a possible bias motive in this case,” Nihad Awad, of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said in a statement.
When Jews are killed, there is no such outrage.
Where are CAIR, Erdogan, the Palestinians when a man is burned alive in a cage or when children are beheaded? What about the victims of honor killings? Where’s the outrage? They’d be using their time better if they worried about that.
NPR ran a piece which talked about victim Deah Barakat’s tweets. He tweeted mostly about sports, the tragedy of people wanting to “kill Palestinians, kill Jews”, but NPR failed to notice his occasional anti-Semitic and other questionable tweets like this one:
The families of the deceased are members of a terror-supporting Mosque that was raided for a plot to kill Marines and which hosted Ahmed Musa Jibril, a radical Dearborn cleric, popular with ISIS, who has been inspiring foreign fighters to go to Syria.
The crime against these three young people was horrific, but what some people with political agendas are doing with it hurts their cause.
