Let’s Picket Colleges-The Real Problem In College Costs

The OWS who made this sign is the one who took out the loans, and I don’t know why I or anyone else should have to contribute to paying off this loan. Instead of this person being angry with the people who were nice enough to give him the loan, shouldn’t he be angry at the colleges which are soaking him?

Now the colleges can have unfettered increases with the taxpayer backed student loans supporting them.  Many of these loans will go into default. The U.S. Department of Education, on September 12th, released the official FY 2009 national student loan cohort default rate, which has risen to 8.8 percent, up from 7.0 percent in FY 2008.

The OWS should consider picketing the colleges and demanding to know why they need to charge every student $40,000 – $50,000 a year so they can teach them to chant on Wall Street with Communists.

Do you really want to pay $40,000 – $50,000 a year to have your child educated by this guy, Professor at Princeton, Cornell West?

Colleges have become mills, churning students out for $25,000 per year or more. The illusion is that everyone must go to college, which is patently not true. As a result, many students who should go to vocational school, don’t. Also as a result, colleges have been dumbed down and so have the students. They are no longer taught to think for themselves, they are taught to robotically repeat the words of an ideologue.
