Mark Levin: “Iran’s Ballistic Missiles Are Inherently Capable of Delivering Weapons of Mass Destruction

Mark Levin was on The Hannity Show Tuesday evening to discuss Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to Congress earlier in the day and what he said should frighten Americans.

The most important statements Levin made last night were quotes from Barack Obama’s own government’s world threat assessment from the intelligence community last year. He starts quoting at about 02:24 on the mark. As he said, Barack Obama knows how serious the Iranian threat is.

Levin quoted from the report: “Teheran has made technical progress in a number of areas including Uranium enrichment, nuclear reactors, ballistic missiles from which it could draw if it decided to build missile deliverable nuclear weapons…worse…we judge that Iran would choose a ballistic missile as its preferred method of delivering nuclear weapons. Iran’s ballistic missiles are inherently capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction and Iran already has the largest inventory of ballistic missiles in the Middle East and finally it goes on to say they have the means and motivation to develop longer range missiles including an intercontinental ballistic missile ICBM.”

“That hits Europe, that hits the United States, this is no joke, and I’m scared to death with this president in office,” he concluded.

Levin didn’t mention this but the report also said “At the same time, Iran’s perceived need for economic relief has led it to make concessions on its nuclear program through the 24 November 2013 Joint Plan of Action with the P5+1 countries and the European Union (EU). In this context, we judge that Iran is trying to balance conflicting objectives. It wants to improve its nuclear and missile capabilities while avoiding severe repercussions—such as a military strike or regime-threatening sanctions. We do not know if Iran will eventually decide to build nuclear weapons.”

It’s obvious to most of us that Iran wants relief from the sanctions that were starting to strangle them and they will play games to get it. There is no reason to trust Iran in any way.

The report also talks about North Korea, cyber security and the grave threats from transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking.

“The problem is that Obama doesn’t believe we can stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons,” Levin said. “Our leaders in the past worked with nations like Russia and any other government to stop these third world actors from getting WMDs, but our foreign policy is such a shambles, there’s no one to work with to keep these people from getting the weapons.”
