White House National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was a consulting senior fellow at a U.K.-based think tank, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). It is one of the few think tanks that is allegedly transparent about its donors according to Financial Times. What makes their donor list interesting is that a George Soros group is or was one of them. It was removed from the list in July.
One caveat: not everything Soros funds is evil, just most of what he funds.
Why the donor matters
IISS was instrumental in selling the horrendous Iran nuclear deal to the public and the media according to Barack Obama.

They describe themselves as a “world-leading authority on global security, political risk and military conflict.”
The group has beat off any accusations that Tehran has violated the Iran deal though the evidence presented by members of Congress suggests otherwise.
The list of groups, corporations and government entities that provide funding to the think tank, including during the period of McMaster’s work there, does not include Ploughshares. However, they did on November 10, 2016 right until last month.
The Wayback Machine has archived a donor list with Ploughshares on it. Wayback only started archiving the website in October 2015 – it’s fairly new. Ploughshares was still listed on July 9th. It was gone by August 5th. McMaster’s problems hit the proverbial fan in July.
Breitbart News reported that IISS is listed as a grantee for Iran issues in Ploughshares Fund’s budget report for 2016.
Ploughshares Fund is financed by Soros’ Open Society Institute. Soros and his group have fully backed the Iran deal.

The New York Times Magazine also revealed the ties between Plougshares and Ben Rhodes, Obama’s former deputy of national security.
The involvement of Ploughshares in selling the Iran agreement to the public was revealed in an extensive New York Times Magazine profile of Obama’s former deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes.
What makes this more interesting is the fact that McMaster is firing General Flynn’s staff and has kept almost every one of Ben Rhodes’ staff.
McMaster is a supporter of the Iran deal and while he denies being anti-Israel, many believe he is. The people McMaster fired, specifically Col. Harvey, say McMaster blocked anti-Iran deal reports, though it’s not only the colonel saying it. Rich Higgins also said it.
For now, the President and Chief of Staff John Kelly, a general who is tied to McMaster, are backing McMaster.
