Last year, Curtis Kipple, a 4th grade student in Adam’s Basin, NY, wrote a letter about video games and football and put it in a bottle along with several of his classmates. The bottles were sent to a fisherman in North Carolina’s Outer Banks who threw them into the Gulf Stream.
Curtis’ bottle turned up last week in Terceira, Portugal. It traveled a distance of 2,589 miles.
A father and son found the bottle and an Ana Ponte, 25, sent the following email – ‘My brother and my father (woke) up earlier today and went to sea to catch a seafood very common here.’
Last June, another student’s bottle turned up in Nova Scotia. Daily Mail
