Military Might Need Warrants for Night Raids in Afghanistan

For a President who doesn’t seem to like the Constitution, he sure likes to implement it overseas. Reuters reports that Obama might have our military request warrants before conducting night raids, which is known to be one of the most effective anti-insurgent tools the military employs.

The Obama government was discussing options with the Afghans including a warrant-based approach or possibly allowing Afghan judges to review raids before they took place, the U.S. official said on Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the negotiations.

That sounds efficient (irony here) to say nothing of it putting our military in harm’s way.

We wouldn’t want Obama hampered in his political dealings though (more irony). Obama apparently wants a military presence in Afghanistan beyond 2014 and hopes to have permanent military bases.

He’s so weak.
