Mourning the Election at the Sentinel

Oh why, America? Why? Another four years of a statist who has given us high gasoline prices, lower home values, extreme debt and deficit spending, and of course the Obamacare bill which will undoubtedly lead to an unsustainable single payer system.

Before the election, President Obama said he would work with Republicans – he’d beg if he had to. After the election, he said he won’t budge on raising the tax rates on the rich. Boehner said he’d agree to a tax hike but not to an increase in the rate.

Obama would rather see us go over the fiscal cliff.

“I’m open to compromise, I’m open to new ideas … but I refuse to accept any approach that isn’t balanced,” said Obama, who asked Boehner and Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell to meet with him next week on the issue. “We can’t just cut our way to prosperity, we have to combine spending cuts with revenue,” Obama said.

Many who voted for Obama voted out of revenge against the rich so it is an important issue for the president of no. He wants to tax millionaires who make $250,000 a year. The $68 billion he will pick up from that tax will pay for the government for a little more than a week so where is he going to get the rest of the money? From you of course.

Obamacare will cause a great deal of damage as it comes into effect and it will make individual’s healthcare choices subject to the administration’s protocols. It is expensive and will harm business. I don’t know if we can come back from that.

In any event, as soon as our period of mourning is over, we will come back swinging.
