Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel smacked down the notion of border walls in a not-so-subtle swipe at President Donald Trump and she did it in Mexico.
Merkel was meeting with Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto and a group of business leaders at Interactive Economics Museum in Mexico City.
Illogically, she thinks border walls don’t work but jobs do. She said that border walls could not solve the issues of illegal immigration and that countries needed to work with their neighbors to solve the causes.
President Trump has continued the funding to the poorer nations and he is supportive of helping solve the causes. What Merkel is not willing to do is accept the main causes of radical Islamic terrorism.
Merkel’s smackdown:
“Obviously the main reason for people leaving must be addressed on site first, which means putting up walls and cutting oneself off will not solve the problem,” Merkel said, speaking in Mexico City.
“It’s an issue you can study well in the history of China with the (Great) Wall of China, you can study it in the history of the Roman Empire. Essentially, only when great empires have managed to forge sensible relationships with their neighbors and to manage migration has it been a success.”
The Great Wall is hardly comparable. She is siding with Mexico against our right to protect our sovereignty. The German Chancellor is also quite upset at the U.S. taking the funding and leaving the Paris climate treaty. The EU can still enact their plan. They don’t need us.

As she looks about root causes, how does she think we are going to get to them? What’s her answer. She’s had years to come up with them. The answer to that of course is we can’t solve the problems of other sovereign nations.
Our open borders has drug cartels and gang members coming through. Even Janet Napolitano admitted terrorists come through “from time to time”.
Merkel should mind her own business and start worrying about her own nation that she is systematically destroying.
