NAACP Says Voter ID Laws Disadvantage Transgenders

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was once a great organization, but now they are floundering in their search for relevancy. Ben Jealous, their President, proved that point once again on Friday when he said that voter ID laws need to be thrown out, in part, because they put transgenders at a disadvantage.

“As many people know, I have an adopted brother who’s transgender and he typically doesn’t dress the way he does when he hangs out in the Tenderloin when he goes to a government office,” Jealous said, referencing a notorious LGBT community in San Francisco. “And so if you show his ID you know and he would hold it up to his face, it looks like two different people.”

Therefore, because Ben Jealous’s transgender brother dresses like two different people, transgenders shouldn’t be required to show ID to vote.

This is who the NAACP elected to lead their organization.

The NAACP members think we are still living in the 1960’s and they are having a problem finding their way in a world where Blacks have broken the biggest glass ceiling in the world. The one good thing about Barack Obama’s election is it clearly demonstrated what a Black person can achieve in this country. The NAACP hasn’t seemed to notice as they wallow in nonsense.
