Nancy Pelosi was asked by a reporter Thursday why she should keep her job. Let’s face it, it’s a legitimate question. Contrary to her promise of knowing how to win elections, she’s not winning elections. Her finest moment, or craziest, depending on your point of view, came when she boasted of her many attributes as a leader.

As she sung her praises, reporters laughed.

“Now, it’s not a slam dunk. History is on our side,” she blabbered, “but it takes strategic, unified and disciplined — we have — we have harmony. But it doesn’t always mean we have unanimity, but we do have unity when it comes to fighting that fight.

She is a master legislator, a strategic politically astute leader

Wow, wow, really wow on this next statement of hers about her abilities which is NOT satire. The problem is she’s not a “strategic, politically astute leader”. She’s not even coherent much of the time.

“So you want to I sing my praises,” she said in all seriousness, “is that what you’re saying? Well, sure I will. I am a master legislator. [That drew laughter] I am a strategic, politically astute leader. I am — my leadership is recognized by many around the country, and that is why I am able to attract the support that I do which is essential to our election, sad to say.”

“I am very pleased that the cooperation that we’re doing working with all the social media and small donor community to change how we communicate but also how we attract resources, intellectual and financial to the party.”

Pelosi must believe all those nice things her aides say about her.

She says it again, she wins in Congress

Even though she’s losing miserably, it’s her strength and she knows how to do it.

“I have experience in winning the Congress. When people said to us in ‘05, you don’t have a chance, be prepared for a Republican permanent majority, I said — Harry Reid and I said we don’t accept that. So we proceeded. We took the president from 58 to 38, President Bush won the election.”

Actually, last month was their worst fundraising month. It would have been worse if she wasn’t such a great fundraiser.
