Nanny Bloomberg to Outlaw Large Sugary Drinks In NYC

Mayor Bloomberg is going to ban the sale of large sodas and other sugary drinks at restaurants, movie theaters and street carts. He decided we are all too fat in NYC and since he thinks of ourselves as our Daddy, he’s going to control us. He has already banned cigarette sales and trans fat.

He doesn’t like salt in restaurants either but he hasn’t moved on that yet.

He wants to ban everything.

Nannies think they have the right to intrude on every aspect of our lives – obesity is the reason this time but there is always a reason.

I think we should ban Bloomie.

From the NY Times –

The proposed ban would affect virtually the entire menu of popular sugary drinks found in delis, fast-food franchises and even sports arenas, from energy drinks to pre-sweetened iced teas. The sale of any cup or bottle of sweetened drink larger than 16 fluid ounces — about the size of a medium coffee, and smaller than a common soda bottle — would be prohibited under the first-in-the-nation plan, which could take effect as soon as next March.
