NC Law Under Fire for Requiring Public Bathroom Use by Birth or Reassignment Gender

A new religious freedom law in North Carolina is being called an ‘anti-LGBTQ’ law because it requires people use the bathroom that corresponds with the sex stated on their birth certificate. The bill allows for sex reassignment.

The biggest concern is that sex abusers will use the bathrooms. Most women, particularly young girls, won’t feel comfortable with a large man in their public women’s bathroom or locker room. In particular, the concern is for schools and the confusion it causes for children.

Leftist civil rights groups, LGBTQ activists and some corporations are claiming this means businesses, government agencies and public schools will discriminate against LGBTQ’s

The population of transgenders currently stands at .2% or .3%

The claim is that it is the “most anti-LGBT bill in the country.” It voids all ordinances in the state that conflict.

Without the bill, transgender people would have been able to use any restroom they choose. It also means anyone can use any bathroom they want.

The law orders public schools, government agencies and public college campuses to designate use of multiple-occupancy bathrooms and changing facilities, such as locker rooms, by biological sex stated on a person’s birth certificate.

North Carolina is the first state to require public school and university students to use only those bathrooms that match the biological sex written on their birth certificates, according to the National Conference on State Legislatures.

The law is also meant to protect businesses that don’t want to bake cakes for gay weddings because they believe it is not discrimination but rather subscribing to a strongly-held religious belief about marriage. Their businesses won’t be bankrupted for violations.

Georgia has a similar law which they gutted when there was an uproar front he left.

What do you think?

  1. How is it “hateful” to expect people to use their assigned bathroom based on “plumbing”? The world is under attack by radical Muslims who hate gays but these are the same people who want to invite the savages into the civilized world. I just can’t figure their idiotic logic out.
