CNN’s Don Lemon was covering New Year’s Eve alongside Brooke Baldwin in New Orleans, and their antics during the night ended up with Lemon getting his ear pierced after trying to strip down to his bare chest to get his nipple pierced.

Soon after New Orleans transitioned into the new year in local time, Lemon’s mic conspicuously went dead just as soon as he said 2016 was “awful.”

Kathy Griffith was hosting with Anderson Cooper. Don Lemon asked her and Cooper if he should get a nipple piercing or an ear piercing. Griffith started jumping up and down yelling, “nipple, nipple, nipple”. She muttered some other silly comments.

Don started to take his shirt off to go with the nipple piercing by some young man covered in tattoos wearing a mask, but Brook Baldwin held his shirt closed, telling him not to do it.

Cooper said, “no, don’t do it,” while Griffith egged him on.

Lemon thanked Cooper and settled for having his ear pierced on camera while drunk.

Throughout his broadcast tonight, Lemon was spotted enjoying drinks with fellow revelers. He appeared to be getting drunker as the night went on.

A good time was had by all, too good a time.

After the ball dropped, CNN cut off Don Lemon’s mic when he said “2016 was awful”. Good move! Who knows what he would have said next.

Mariah Carey forgot to move her lips

Can’t imagine anything more embarrassing for a New Year’s eve broadcast except perhaps for someone like, I don’t know, Mariah Carey blowing her gig.

CBS said there were “technical difficulties” but the technical difficulties were her lips didn’t move.

After the performance, she took to Instagram and said, “here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”

She also tweeted.
