Sandy Hook Moment of Silence – Update

An official fund for victims’ families, and the community as a whole, has now been established: Sandy Hook School Support Fund. It was set up by the United Way of Western Connecticut which will provide support services to families and the community. All donations to this fund will go directly to those affected.

    • Newtown Youth and Family Services
    • A memorial fund had been set up for the families at Pack 170 Memorial Fund c/o Connecticut Yankee Council, PO Box 32, Milford, CT 06461.
    • NY Daily News reports a very touching story on how Becky Kowaski was inspired to create the Chase Kowalski Fund, hoping it will, “save lives, change building codes, foster gun control, ‘and bring God back to America.’” Contributions to the fund can be sent to: Chase Kowalski Scholarship Fund c/o People’s Bank, 470 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
    • Benjamin Wheeler’s obituary has suggested that contributions in his memory can be sent to the Benjamin Wheeler Fund, c/o Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main St., Newtown, Conn., 06470.
