All they needed to remove the 100 or so protesters at Standing Rock are some bulldozers, riot police and military humvees. It’s going to take a lot more to clean up the mess they left behind. Not only did they leave filth, they set fires wherever they could.
Police, including state troopers from Wisconsin, and what looked like National Guard troops entered the mostly abandoned encampment on Thursday morning, accompanied with armored vehicles and construction equipment. They will need those vehicles to clean up.
Most people were gone but the fires and the garbage weren’t.
