The Imperial President, Barack Obama
Two weeks before his address to the Nation, Mr. Obama announced Tuesday that he will use his “pen-and-phone” strategy to get his Progressive agenda through. The strategy relies on Executive Orders, Executive Actions and the bully pulpit to enact legislation, which is supposed to be the province of Congress. He will continue to violate the Separation of Powers, using the excuse that Congress is failing to act on urgent matters. What is actually happening is Republicans won’t do exactly as he demands.
“We’re not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we’re providing Americans the kind of help they need. I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone.”
”And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance, to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating.”
“One of the things that I’m going to be talking to my Cabinet about is how do we use all the tools available to us, not just legislation, in order to advance a mission that I think unifies all Americans,” Obama said. [Mr. Obama is using powers that are not his to use.] “The belief that everybody’s got to take responsibility, everybody’s got to work hard, but if you do, that you can support a family and meet the kinds of obligations that you have to yourself and your family, but also to your communities and your neighbors.”
“Overall, the message to my Cabinet, and that will be amplified in our State of the Union, is that we need all hands on deck to build on the recovery that we’re already seeing,” Obama said. “The economy is improving, but it can be improving even faster.”

John Podesta will join the president in the White House. Podesta is known for pushing through rules with no regard for the Constitution.
Podesta, with funding from George Soros, founded The Center for American Progress. The organization, which spreads extreme leftist propaganda online, is closely tied to the Obama Administration.
They laid out the blueprint for the use of executive orders, rule making, agencies et al, to circumvent Congress in the organization’s definitive report, The Power of the President, Recommendations to Advance Progressive Change.
To quote Mr. Podesta, ‘The ability of President Obama to accomplish important change through these powers should not be underestimated.’
Obama is using Executive power to affect immigration law. McClatchy has a good article on that.
“What this administration has undertaken has never happened to this degree,” said Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, a research center.
“The current administration is picking and choosing which laws to enforce,” said Rep. Robert Goodlatte, a Virginia Republican who’s the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “The president cannot refuse to enforce a law simply because he dislikes it.”

The Supreme Court is deciding the NLRB recess appointments case but it won’t matter. Even though the appointments were undoubtedly unconstitutional, Mr. Obama now gets to appoint anyone he wants thanks to Harry Reid’s passage of the nuclear option.
Mr. Obama is currently filling the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals with his far-left appointees who will do exactly as he wishes, giving him power over the courts.
