Obama Apologizes for Not Being Clearer When He Lied

Mr. Obama had a secret meeting with congressional Democrats this week and the interview he gave to Chuck Todd today was probably an outcome of the meeting. Democrats have been very concerned about the Obamacare rollout and the effect it might have on their re-election chances.

During the interview, Mr. Obama gave a heartfelt (not really) apology to the American people for saying over-and-over-and-over again that “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan”.

His apology, which Chuck Todd dragged out of him:

“I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,” he told NBC News in an exclusive interview at the White House.

“We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.”

He added that “we should have been clearer.”

What was not clear? He said we could keep our plan! And who is this “we?”

He said only 5% of the population are effected and then said it was thousands of people though, by my math, it’s actually millions of people. He didn’t bother to mention the millions who will lose their insurance when the employer mandate kicks in – he is not being CLEAR again!

The messages from the interview: He meant what he said, he’s deeply concerned, he’s on it, and his intention is to ‘lift up” the insurance. The site is much better, he’s working on other tracks, he should have been clearer, Kathleen Sebelius doesn’t write code, and he assembled his team to work on a process without Congress (Shocker!)

He wants people moving into better plans because they want to, not because they are forced to. (I don’t want it!!! 51% of the nation doesn’t want it!)

He said the website didn’t work for the first couple weeks. He couldn’t even tell the truth about that. It was launched on October 1st and it still isn’t working. By my math, that’s more than a month, not two weeks.

Mr. Obama is working on it. He’s working on the website. He’s also looking for the Benghazi terrorists to bring them to justice, he’s going to get to the bottom of the IRS scandal, and he never drew a red line. That wasn’t said during this interview but I thought I’d mention it.

It took ten days of battering by the press and a slippage in his poll numbers to bring about his half-hearted apology.
