Obama Asks For Repeal of War Authorization So U.S. Can’t Fight Al Qaeda

Barack Obama has been funding terrorists and pressuring Israel to surrender to Hamas. Now he is also setting us up so we cannot fight Al Qaeda overseas.

Hours after Congress approved a resolution to oppose military intervention in Iraq, National Security Advisor Susan Rice sent a letter Friday to Speaker John Boehner calling on Congress to fully repeal the war authorization in Iraq. Obama wants to be certain that no U.S. troops will ever fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS or ISIL or IS) or al Qaeda.

ISIS is al Qaeda, a particularly violent wing which has fallen in some disfavor with the main structure. However, make no mistake, they are al Qaeda and they are doing exactly what all of al Qaeda wants.

The timing of the Obama administration letter is a message to ISIS and other al Qaeda terrorists that they have free rein and the United States will not intervene. It’s a very clear message that no one will stop them.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that when Rep. Buck McKeon (R-CA), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, heard about the Rice letter, he “thought he was joking.”

“Obama Administration officials are warning us daily that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is ‘worse than al-Qaeda’ and an extreme threat to the American people,” McKeon said. “The American people aren’t worried that the president will send the military back to Iraq. They’re worried about a deadly terrorist state that can hit us from Wall Street to Main Street. They’re worried that this president refuses to do anything, at anytime, in any way, to stop the flood of national security crises that are popping up around the globe.”

When ISIS leader al-Baghdadi was released from the U.S. detention camp in 2009, he said, “I’ll see you guys in New York.”

There are indications that they plan to stage a 9/11 style attack.

CBS News reported in mid-July that experts believe “the group’s increasing power and reach is concerning…”

“You’ve got motivation mixed with opportunity, ideology and foreign fighters and all of that looks like a very extreme version of Afghanistan in the ’90s, plus what was happening in Iraq after the Iraq war,” said CBS News National Security Analyst Juan Zarate. “This is a cauldron of future terrorist threats to the west.”

The bigger danger, Zarate said, is that the U.S. does not yet know exactly what the group will look like once it evolves. While ISIS might not launch an attack on U.S. soil tomorrow, he said, “I think the grave threat here is that you have the seeds of a new terrorist movement emerging very aggressively.”

ISIS was a terrorist group months ago but it is now a full-blown terrorist army. Obama could have hit their supply lines and encampments when they were on the border without endangering civilians but he chose to let them take over large swaths of land in Syria and Iraq, where they torture, maim, murder and brutalize women, Christians, and peaceful Muslims.

The U.S. has unwittingly given arms and provided training to ISIS members in Syria in a war to defeat Assad. Obama had said that Assad must go.

ISIS has encouraged the bombing of malls and other soft targets on Twitter and through other communications links.

We know from the Institute for Middle Eastern Policy Research and our own government that there are at least 3,000 holders of U.S. or EU passports in the ISIS army who are being trained to come back to the West and launch terror attacks. The British have recently seen a surge in citizens joining ISIS.

Mr. Obama is very serious about withdrawing the United States completely from the world stage and making us a very insignificant cog in a world of socialists and communist statists and dictators. We no longer fight for freedom. We stand for no one and nothing.
