A banned Islamic charity tied to the terror groups Hamas, the Muslim brotherhood and other groups financing terror was just given $270,000 of our tax dollars for health services in Nairobi and Kenya. When the US gives tax dollars abroad there is less accountability than we have here at home.
The founder of Islamic Relief Worldwide was arrested for terrorism a little over a year ago.
The Washington Free Beacon .reported that the Department of Health and Human Services gave them the grant.
The group, banned by Israel and the United Arab Emirates, received its highest income level since 2012 last year.
Investigations in 2014 revealed that Islamic Relief has ties to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other entities engaged in terror financing, according to reports.
The free beacon reported:
An investigation by the Israeli government led to accusations that the charity was providing material support to Hamas and its operatives.
The charity “provides support and assistance to Hamas’s infrastructure,” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs determined in 2006. “The IRW’s activities in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip are carried out by social welfare organizations controlled and staffed by Hamas operatives.”
The charity further “appears to be a hub for donations from charities accused of links to al Qaeda and other terror groups,” according to an investigation conducted by the Gatestone Institute.
The charity’s “accounts show that it has partnered with a number of organizations linked to terrorism and that some of charity’s trustees are personally affiliated with extreme Islamist groups that have connections to terror,” according to the investigation, authored by terrorism analyst Samuel Westrop.
IBTimes reported that HSBC bank broke ties with them over terrorist activities.
It is the largest U.S. Muslim Charity, and it is now playing a role in helping to settle refugees from terror torn Syria.
It gets crazier every day.
