Obama Is Eye Candy, Romney Is Presidential

President Obama appeared on The View yesterday and joked (while the world burns), “I am just eye candy here.” He has appeared on Letterman and he’s frolicked with Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

When the embassies were stormed in Cairo and Libya, he went to bed. He awoke to find that the Ambassador to Libya was dead and he hopped on a plane to Vegas for a fundraiser.

He had a meeting scheduled with Egyptian President Morsi this week, which he canceled, while refusing to meet with Netanyahu.

President Obama spoke on 60 Minutes Sunday and referred to Netanyahu/Israel as “noise” to be ignored.

Obama, interviewed for Sunday’s edition of “60 Minutes” on broadcaster CBS, said he understands and agrees with Netanyahu’s insistence that Iran not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons as this would threaten both countries, the world in general, and kick off an arms race.
But Obama added: “When it comes to our national security decisions — any pressure that I feel is simply to do what’s right for the American people. And I am going to block out — any noise that’s out there.”

That is not going over well with many, including some Jewish leaders.

Dov Hikind Democratic Assemblyman representing the 48th District is well respected especially amongst Orthodox Jews across the country.  Hikand told the NY Post he’s fed-up with the way President Obama has treated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the Jewish state deals with threats from Iran.

The Assemblyman is ready to hit the campaign trail for the GOP Candidate:

“Florida. Pennsylvania. Wherever Romney needs need me, I’ll be there,” Hikind said.

Arguing that Obama has been a bad president, Hikind said he was particularly infuriated that the president couldn’t find the time to meet with Netanyahu during the UN conference but has schmoozed with celebrities at New York fund-raisers.

“Israel is under the gun. Israel is the target of Iran. Israel’s existence is being threatened. And Obama doesn’t have time to meet with the Israeli PM? It’s insulting. It’s degrading. This president scares me,” Hikind said.

“I’m a Democrat but not a knee-jerk Democrat. I’m only loyal to America and the survival of Israel.”

Obama spoke before the U.N. today and it was more foo foo dust. He reviewed the problems occurring throughout the world and criticized the violence in Syria, violence he has done nothing to contain as of yet.

He said he believes there is time to solve problems with Iran through diplomacy but that time is not unlimited. He spoke against Iran getting the bomb and said we will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. He did not set a redline.

He also did NOT say he’d join with Israel, he said he’d walk alongside in the peace process. He has already made it clear that he wants Israel to go back to 1967 borders which are indefensible.

Obama set a deadline for leaving Iraq and Afghanistan, putting our soldiers in harm’s way, but will put no deadline on Iran getting a bomb though they are likely months away from achieving 90% enrichment of uranium.

His handling of the green-on-blue crimes in Afghanistan best exemplifies what Obama believes to be true. It is indicative of the foreign policy he will continue despite reality:

The Pentagon’s response tells volumes about  about what’s going on in Afghanistan. The murders of our troops in Afghanistan? Hey, it’s their own fault. Because our troops don’t sufficiently bow down to Sharia or 7th century Islamic norms of behavior.

According to President Obama’s head of the JCS, General Martin Dempsey, a lot of these murders are due to what he calls “cultural affronts’ on our part.

So our troops are being put through heavy  ‘Muslim sensitivity ‘ training, with heavy penalties for  infractions. The orders include:

* Wear surgical gloves whenever handling a copy of the Koran.
* Never walk in front of a praying Muslim.
* Never show the bottom of boots while sitting or lying across from a Muslim, which in Islam is considered an insult.
* Never share photos of wives or daughters.
* Never smoke or eat in front of Muslims during the monthlong Ramadan fasting.
* Avoid winking, cursing or nose-blowing in the presence of Muslims — all viewed as insults in Islam.
* Avoid exiting the shower without a towel.
* Avoid offering and accepting things with the left hand, which in Islam is reserved for bodily hygiene and considered unclean.

Yes, show the bottoms of your feet to a Muslim or blow your nose in front of him and it’s perfectly understandable  if he murders you. You had it coming!

What’s going on here, of course, is a simple failure to process reality by people like General Dempsey and our commander in chief.

As Obama spoke today, he was Obama the politician.

Obama said “he’s been told there is a common heartbeat to mankind.” He denounced the Assad regime and condemned the violence over the video. All that was great.

He made several references to the video and strongly defended the first amendment, but then he added that we accept that other countries do not allow free speech. Was that Obama giving license to those who will respond to free speech with violence? It sends a mixed message.

Pretending the video is the reason for the violence in the mid-East and elsewhere, and completely withdrawing the U.S. from the region, without a base, will come back to haunt us and it is not a serious foreign policy.

The president made it clear that the U.S. government had nothing to do with the video, which he called “crude” and “disgusting.” He said, “It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well – for as the city outside these walls makes clear, we are a country that has welcomed people of every race and faith.”

Obama only referred to “terror” once and that was not in reference to Libya.

Obama’s pontifications included his usual moral equivalency comparing self-defense to terror. Obama believes the problems in the mid-East were caused by the video and the changeover to democracy. He would not speak to the fact that it was a terror attack. That is very weak.

Obama talked about Ambassador Stevens but it was his administration that spent a week lying about the circumstances surrounding the Ambassdor’s death.

CNN has a copy of the Ambassador’s diary and, in it, Ambassador Stevens feared for his life. He believed there was a hit out on him. Are we to believe that he did not mention this to his superiors? Why were none of those embassies guarded? Where were the Marines?

Are we so PC that we won’t protect our embassies for fear of insulting the residents with a military presence?

President Obama is not serious. He is a serious talker. He is a serious campaigner. He is not a serious president.

The text and video of President Obama’s speech can be found at The Daily Beast , an Internet paper that is biased towards the president.

Mitt Romney gave a moving speech at the Bill Clinton Global Initiative. He has a plan linking foreign aid to trade. The only thing the media picked up on was that he “knocked Obama and said he’d never apologize for America.” They ignored most of the substance of the speech.

Mitt Romney reminded us of the 26 year-old man who self-immolated in despair and set off the Arab Spring. The young man supported his family as a vender from a very early age. The only thing he owned were scales. The government took his scales and he asked, Why are you doing this to me? All I want to do is work.

From there, Romney talked about the United States being a force for good and a leader in helping people work and prosper and live freely. His speech was substantive with examples of how he would make this happen.
