Barack Obama traveled to Milan with a huge gas-guzzling fleet of planes and vans to receive an attendance/speaking fee in the $2.7 million dollar range from climate change believers. He told the audience that “as a result of global warming there would be a refugee crisis “unprecedented in human history.”
He is a full-on hypocrite, wasting fuel, and taking in big bucks to build up his bank account.
That crisis has already happened but it’s not because of global warming, it’s because of his feckless foreign policy in large part. This “crisis” comes as great news to the Hari Kari Republicans who want cheap labor and the open borders Democrats who want a country without borders or identity who will always vote Democrat. They need an excuse.
The former president boldly stated that the United States was currently experiencing “floods on sunny days”, increased wildfires and, in Alaska, increased coastal erosion as the ice melts and no country was “immune” to the problem.
If world leaders put aside “parochial interests” and took action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by enough to restrict the rise to one or two degrees Celsius, then humanity would probably be able to cope, he predicted.
His speech was full of inaccuracies such as his claim that there have been record low crop yields. There have been record high crop yields. However, facts don’t matter to the climate hysterics.
“Our changing climate is already making it more difficult to produce food,” Obama said at the Seeds & Chips conference in Milan, Italy Tuesday.
In fact, 2016 was a record year for crop yields, which have basically doubled since 2007.
Production of wheat, coarse grains and rice hit record levels in 2016, according to United Nations data. Cereal production is set to shrink 0.4 percent in 2017 “from the 2016 record high,” but “supplies are likely to remain large with next season’s cereal ending stocks remaining close to their record high opening levels,” the UN reports.
As for food prices, they’re well below recent highs hit in 2010. UN data shows the inflation-adjusted food index — the average of five commodity price indices — is just below where it was in 1965. the food price index peaked around 1975, Daily Caller reported.
No matter how ridiculous his statements, Obama is taken seriously.
In 2015, he tied global warming and ISIS terrorism into a neat bundle. He can’t find any ties between Islam and Islamic terrorists but he can see the ties between Islamic terrorists and global warming.
President Barack Obama linked climate change to the emergence of the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram and “the early unrest in Syria” during a commencement speech at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. in May, 2015.
At the time he said, “Understand climate change did not cause the conflicts we see around the world. Yet, what we also know is that severe drought helped to create the instability in Nigeria that was exploited by the terrorist group Boko Haram. It’s now believed that drought and crop failures and high food prices helped fuel the early unrest in Syria, which descended into civil war in the heart of the Middle East,” he said.
“Globally, we could see a rise in climate change refugees, and I guarantee you the Coast Guard will have to respond. Elsewhere, more intense droughts will exacerbate shortages of water and food, increase competition for resources and create the potential for mass migrations and tensions – all of which is why the Pentagon calls climate change a threat multiplier,” Obama said.
The people in Milan could have saved themselves millions if they just played the video from 2015.
