Democrat Senator, Max Baucus, one of the chief architects of ObamaCare described the new law as “ a huge train wreck”. The Oxford Dictionary defines train wreck as, “a chaotic or disastrous situation that holds a ghoulish fascination for observers.” How many Americans living outside Washington D.C., would shout down the idea of stopping a calamity before it happened? The percentage would likely be in the low single digits, and limited to disturbed, voyeuristic, individuals rooting to watch some gruesome, horrific spectacle.
Democrat Senator, Jay Rockefeller, another “Affordable Care Act” architect, claimed the statute now poised to cast a long dark, bureaucratic shadow over the health of every American, “is beyond comprehension.” How many living outside the Beltway are eager to live under a law written by a legislator who can’t understand it? Based on the candid analysis of Jay Rockefeller, how many folks do you think would assign their well being, including life and death decisions, to a newly formed “government health exchange”. It should be noted those living in Washington who wrote, promoted, and rushed the bill through, have recently exempted themselves and staffs from their own legislation.
Three big time labor unions, including the Teamsters, have written a harsh letter to Democrat leaders in Congress. Referencing ObamaCare they conclude it “…will destroy the….40 hour work week, that is the backbone of the American middle class.”, and “destroy the….wellbeing of….millions of hardworking Americans.” Those are scathing words, especially considering the predictions of doom are coming from organizations who gave full throated support to the new law, and are virtually always in lockstep with their political benefactors.
Meanwhile four Democrat party chieftains have made some over the top, strident comments regarding Republican efforts to defund a program that more and more Americans don’t want. Nancy (We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.) Pelosi called the G.O.P.ers “legislative arsonists”. Harry (I can cowardly slander good people from the well of Senate without fear of legal reprisals.) Reid has called fellow lawmakers who just happen to disagree with him, “anarchists”. Chuck (Don’t get in my way I’m headed for a camera.) Schumer said it’s an “insane plan”. President Barack (Whatever goes wrong, it’s never my fault.) Obama has whined those rascally Republicans are trying to “extort a president”.
These are the people who, given the defining words used by fellow Democrat, Senator Max Baucus, apparently are not interested in preventing “a chaotic or disastrous situation”. This allows the rest of us to consider that, much to the delight of a tiny handful of unbalanced voyeurs looking on with “ghoulish fascination”, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, and Obama are fine with allowing the catastrophe they thrust on you and I….to proceed.
