For some of us, Obamacare will cause healthcare premiums to double! It isn’t “free” after all, it’s just controlling. States like New Jersey, New York and Vermont have Obamacare-like laws and already pay well over twice what citizens in many other states pay.
The WSJ online cites the obvious reasons. The congressional Democrats put Obamacare together ignoring every actuarial principle that is vital to reasonable pricing.
Instead, they told people it would be free for all without limits for any condition and to any degree. They will accept anyone who applies.
Illegals with illegal ID’s will receive Obamacare or they will show up at an ER and get the help anyway. This was one of the problems Obamacare was supposed to cure.
Anyone who gets sick can buy Obamacare on a moment’s notice (after they fill out the complicated legalistic form which strips you of your privacy, including financial privacy).
People are incentivized to not buy Obamacare insurance until they need it. They will pay the low penalty or tax or whatever it’s called these days and not contribute to the system which will cause the rest of us to pay a lot more.
The law grandfathers in large employer groups, and for now, it will be the small employer group plans that will be impacted. People who buy their own insurance will be hardest hit.
Lawyers and CEO’s are advising companies to drop healthcare coverage because of the unsustainable costs and regulations. The Obamacare law is 20,000 pages of rules and it’s growing exponentially – every law needs a new law to better define it and rid it of loopholes (which never works by the way.) It’s unfettered government control.
WaPo wrote that Mark Bertolini, CEO of Aetna Inc, calls the price hikes “premium rate shock.”
“We’ve done all the math, we’ve shared it with all the regulators, we’ve shared it with all the people in Washington that need to see it, and I think it’s a big concern,” Bertolini said.
John Boehner will not de-fund Obamacare because he doesn’t want to shut down the government. He needs to be mothballed. What is the point of having an opposition party if there is no opposition. John Roberts did say it was up to Congress and where are they?
We are heading for a single payer, nationalized healthcare system just as President Obama planned. A nationalized healthcare system is a rationed healthcare system that tells people what they can put into their bodies and punishes them accordingly. It neglects the old and the very ill. It is a government bureaucracy coming between you and your doctor.
Forget insurance companies not providing services, they give heart transplants to children despite the theme of the movie John Q featured in the next video, but now we will be under the control of bureaucrats and we will have no judicial recourse – we can’t sue.
We know seniors aren’t going to get the care they need after working all their lives and earning their care:
