Obama’s Legacy

“I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism… I see no contradiction between believing that America has a continued extraordinary role in leading the world towards peace and prosperity and recognizing that that leadership is incumbent, depends on, our ability to create partnerships because we create partnerships because we can’t solve these problems alone.” ~ Barack Hussein Obama the Unexceptional Globalist, Strasbourg, April, 2009

Sitting here at my desk, I’m feeling unfulfilled, sad, and frustrated (maybe because it’s been 4 days WITHOUT a Republican Debate). All I can think of is the unbelievable condition of our country, as we settle into the 4th year of the Obama  Presidency!

It’s “sad” because no matter what his Teleprompter says, no matter what the NY Times publishes, and no matter what channels 2, 4, and 7 show, they can’t change the following facts:

My children and grandchildren will be paying off the 5 Trillion dollars of debt that was accumulated under Pres. Obama!

My grandchildren are facing a market where there are 5.5 million fewer Americans having jobs today than in 2007!

What do they think when they see Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle, and Charlie Rangel all get caught underpaying their own taxes ?

In these very difficult times, how do my own children react, when they see that the three counties with America’s HIGHEST medium family incomes are all located in the Washington DC area? Do they see patronage, corruption or what?

What do I tell my “kids” when I find out that 88% of all political contributions made from “impartial ” television personnel in 2008, went to Democrats?

What really is freedom of the press? What is media bias?

How do I give them the incentive to succeed, when the top 10% of Americans pay 40% of ALL the federal Income taxes? Is it “worth” succeeding when so much of your income is taken from you?

How do I explain the hypocrisy of a President, who, on one hand, sends his children to the finest schools, but refuses to give all other Americans free choice to send their kids to better schools? Why no school vouchers?

How do I explain  that  4 of 10 American households pay NO income tax at all?  Yet, THEY are clamouring for higher taxes on the top income wage earners! Will they understand that after paying a lifetime of federal, state and local taxes, my estate will be taxed as much as 55%?

Why is it necessary at all to pass an “ethics bill” for our elected officials?

How do I explain hypocrisy? How do I explain massive debt that they were not even responsible for?
How do I instill an incentive to succeed when an entitlement mentality has gripped this country?

How do I explain corruption?

My immigrant grandparents and my first generation American parents gave me a work ethic to succeed in the greatest country in the world! Will my grandchildren have that same drive?

I still remember as if it were yesterday, the day in 1966, when, as a member of the US Air Force, I saluted the flag of the greatest country this world has ever seen!  What a feeling!

Will the next generation ever have that same incredible feeling?

Hope so!

P.S. Thanks go to Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal who fearlessly publishes and speaks out on these important issues!.
