the Navy Jack

The Navy Jack flying proudly over a naval vessel will soon be purged

Update: 11/3/13: A video interview with Carl Higbie has been added at the end.

The Navy Jack – the ‘don’t tread on me’ flag – has been banned from use on Navy SEALS uniforms. The patch on Navy uniforms has been ordered removed.

The Navy Jack was the first flag of the Continental Navy during the war of independence and it has been in use through the centuries, including the current war on terror. This is a symbol of our heritage and it is being erased with one memo by someone in our administration. It’s probably not Mr. Obama because he doesn’t know anything.

An amendment to the Navy code called SECNAV Instruction 10520.6 clearly states that as of 31 May 2002 all ships are to fly the flag throughout the duration of the War on Terror, according to the Daily Caller.

No longer.

The Navy brass has ordered the symbol removed from all SEALs’ uniforms. Why would they do something like this? The obvious reason is because it is very similar to the revolutionary flag that has become the symbol of the Tea Party.

One Navy man, a friend of Daily Caller columnist, Carl Higbie, said he asked his leadership and he was told, “The Jack is too closely associated with radical groups.”

The only radical groups he could mean are those associated with the Tea Party.

The Tea Party is a non-violent movement that stands for freedom, the Constitution, and limited government. How is that radical? Our president is shredding the Constitution, dividing our countrymen, and socializing our healthcare system, but that’s not radical? In what world?

Along the same lines, i.e. eliminating traditional America, the military is now replacing chaplains with counselors. God is being replaced with touchy-feely conversations and chaplains will only be used in war zones.

The claim is that chaplains are expensive, under-qualified, and redundant.

“The chaplains are no longer simply the facilitators for religious worship, but are instead being employed as professional counselors.”

Chaplains, who are well-educated, have always been used for counseling. That is what they are supposed to do. The problem the military brass has is that chaplains give spiritual guidance.

The following conclusion was reached in an article by Captain Timothy Reimann in the Marine Corps Gazette:

If the DoN does not immediately start phasing out the active duty Chaplain Corps and replacing it with LPCs, it will continue to do a disservice to Marines and sailors. There is a far more effective and cost beneficial solution than that of the status quo. Chaplains are neither mental health professionals nor professional counselors. Chaplains are religious professionals whose contributions to the DoN can be obtained via local civilian clergy. Hiring LPCs would be cheaper, and servicemembers would receive the professional counseling they so often require. The active duty Chaplain Corps should be thanked for its service and politely escorted out of the U.S. naval Service.

All remnants of traditional America and God will be erased from the military under this administration. This administration believes that traditional America is to be reviled – it is radical. They – Mr. Obama and his cohorts – believe that what is not radical is Socialism and secularism.

Also worth considering in this vein is that nine military commanders have been fired this year. Claims of misconduct accompanied some of the “retirements”. Some unnamed military sources have said that Mr. Obama is purging the military and replacing them with commanders who think like he does.

Isn’t that what the dictator of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi, did?

According to the blaze:

“I think they’re using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don’t agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis,” a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

“Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,” he said.

[…]

A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even “young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job — just keep your mouth shut.

One of the ‘purged’ generals, Carter Ham, is alleged to have been extremely critical of Obama over Benghazi. Another – Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette – admitted under cross-examination by Congress that he could have launched aircraft to Benghazi. A third ‘retirement’ is said to have been connected to Benghazi.

This is speculation at this time but, if it’s true, someone needs to have the courage to tell the truth.

All of this is happening while there are repeated reports of training sessions depicting Christians, specifically Catholics and Evangelicals, as terrorists. It is happening while the government is using Christian-hating Atheists like Mikey Weinstein of the Military Freedom from Religion Foundation and the extremists at the Southern Poverty Law Center as consultants to the military in cases involving religion and the military. Weinstein just demanded that the words ‘under God’ be removed from the Air Force Academy oath.

Do you see where this is headed?

Mr. Obama likes to talk about slavery, particularly when he travels abroad. He uses it to divide our countrymen and demean the United States. However, Mr. Obama is not the descendant of slaves. He is not a black American like most American blacks. He is the descendant of an African communist and a white American communist. He did not live the American dream. He spent years in Indonesia, living the Indonesian dream. He is not a typical American in any sense of the term. He is not the quintessential American and it shows.
