Obama said it again today – he’s going to negotiate with the Taliban under Mullah Omar. Is Obama this far removed from reality or is this just an easy way out before an election? Remember when Obama said we would negotiate with the good Taliban? If Mullah Omar is the good Taliban, Ted Bundy is the good serial killer.
Hillary Clinton said they were going to negotiate with Mullah Omar, leader of the Taliban, back in October because his involvement is crucial to the prospects for peace in Afghanistan, which is absurd of course. Read here: Telegraph Now it’s definite with Obama’s speech in Afghanistan today.
The inconvenient truth is that Mullah Omar was in contact with Ayman al-Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden up until his death. We know this from documents showing they were plotting operations against NATO forces, documents found at his Abbottabad hideout show. Read here: Rediff
There is no reason to believe Mullah Omar has stopped communicating with al-Zawahiri nor is their any reason to think he has changed his hardcore precepts of hate and violence.
So what do we do? We welcome them to the peace process which Omar will abide by until we pull our troops out. This is reminiscent of Obama’s Arab Spring, another profound failure.
Pray for the women and children of Afghanistan who will fall under the reign of terror the Taliban enforced once before and will enforce again. Instead of eliminating the Taliban, Obama is giving them safe haven.
After Obama left Afghanistan, the Taliban bombed Kabul. The Taliban said afterwards that it was meant as a message, one we can’t seem to understand.
