Obama’s Strategy for ISIS Will Model Successes in Somalia, Yemen – Video

Mr. Obama gave his ISIS speech this evening and it was more of the same. Obama’s strategy for ISIS, according to him, will models successes in Somalia and Yemen.

There are no successes in either country and they are not as serious a threat to us as ISIS.

Mr. Obama said America is safer than it’s ever been. That’s untrue of course.

Mr. Obama gave a political speech this evening at a time when he should have said we are at war with ISIS.

ISIS is not Islamic and they are not a state according to Mr. Obama, ignoring the fact they are radical Muslims who control territory the size of Great Britain. He again ignored the issue of genocide.

If left unchecked, Islamic state could pose a threat to the United States, he said, as if ISIS couldn’t possibly get here any time soon. They’re busy in the Middle East he suggested.

Our borders are open. ISIS isn’t on Mars. They can easily get here and it doesn’t take very many of them to create a tragedy. Remember 9/11!

ISIS is encouraging people to join them and commit terrorist acts on U.S. soil and on U.S. interests overseas on social media. Also on social media, they have said that they know our border is open.

It was another political opportunity for Mr. Obama. Obama brought up the economic crash that he claims was the worst since the Great Depression and yet our economy is coming back he further claimed. It’s been the longest run of job creation in our history, he asserted though more than 92 million Americans have left the workforce..

Mr. Obama again said Iraqis must do it themselves even though Iraq is basically a failed state.

He said he will lead a broad coalition to defeat ISIS over time. The coalition existed before him and it’s unlikely he will lead anyone judging from the past. He will launch his mini-strikes in Syria.

He called on Congress to train and equip those opposing ISIS, which could include terrorists and ISIS. Prior to recent events, Mr. Obama said we couldn’t arm the rebels because there was no reasonable way to discern the good rebels from the terrorists or to keep arms out of the hands of terrorists. What’s changed?

He will cut funding, counter their warped ideology, mobilize the international community, provide humanitarian assistance, and so on. He called it a strategy.

Saudi Arabia has agreed to a counter-training program for youth but that’s like spitting at the wind and expecting it will dissipate.

He referred to the broad coalition several times. The coalition already exists. He will tag onto the Sunni coalition and NATO.

Remarkably, he announced he won’t put troops on the ground. Nothing like telling the enemy what we won’t do.

It will likely be a similar situation to that which he and Hillary orchestrated in Benghazi. The U.S. hired the Libyan militias who so unsuccessfully guarded our Ambassador in Benghazi and now we are doing the same thing again. We will rely on troops we can’t possibly trust.

He said he has been successful in Somalia and Yemen and he will use the same practices. They are failed states and are hardly success.

Our ground campaign will completely rely on the Islamic and Christian fighters in Syria and Iraq.

Mr. Obama’s tone was not quite as weak as usual but they were only words. Nothing is different. He is going to continue to muddle along.

There are thousands of ISIS fighters who hold U.S. and EU passports.

He mentioned the fact that some ISIS fighters hold US and EU passports in his speech, but then, instead of addressing that in particular as David Cameron did, he said he is meeting the threats with resolve and targeted action, referring to our strikes which often amount to hits on pickup trucks.

Earlier this year, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R) was stunned when she questioned the FBI about what would happen to American citizens who have gone overseas to fight with the Islamic State, and then try to return to the United States.

“Two from my state were the first Americans who were fighting for ISIS,” she began on The Glenn Beck Show Tuesday. “I had gone earlier this year and asked the FBI, ‘Are there any Minnesotans that are over fighting with ISIS?’ It was classified information at the time, I couldn’t reveal it. Now everyone knows.”

“At that time, these two hadn’t been killed yet,” Bachmann continued. “So what I asked is, ‘OK, once they’re done fighting with ISIS, what’s going to happen if they try to return?’ And they said, ‘Well, they’ll come into the country.’”

“Are you kidding me?” Bachmann remarked. “We are not going to prevent them from coming into the United States?’”

They weren’t kidding and nothing changed this evening.

There is absolutely no chance they will come back and be good citizens but our government doesn’t seem concerned.

Bachmann has introduced legislation to change that and so has Ted Cruz in the senate.

Barack Obama was dragged into making this speech kicking and screaming. His heart isn’t in it. He won’t follow through. He’s poll-driven not mission-driven. He’s a politician through-and-through.

Mr. Obama said he will go it alone and has the authority to bomb or wage war without Congress.

It was the same old speech primped up to give Americans false hope that the might actually do something.

One excerpt from this evening’s speech:

“America will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat,” the President said. “Our objective is clear: we will degrade, and ultimately destroy, ISIL through a comprehensive and sustained counter-terrorism strategy.”

“So tonight, with a new Iraqi government in place, and following consultations with allies abroad and Congress at home, I can announce that America will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat. Our objective is clear: we will degrade, and ultimately destroy, ISIL through a comprehensive and sustained counter-terrorism strategy.”

“But I want the American people to understand how this effort will be different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil. This counter-terrorism campaign will be waged through a steady, relentless effort to take out ISIL wherever they exist using our air power and our support for partner forces on the ground. This strategy of taking out terrorists who threaten us, while supporting partners on the front lines, is one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen and Somalia for years.”

Mr. Obama is still following his foreign policy of “Don’t do stupid sh..!” which includes withdrawing from the world. Mr. Obama’s foreign policy has been incoherent up until now and it is still incoherent.

Listen to his speech:

President Bush’s prophetic words:

Republicans own national security. Democrats can’t protect us because they have to cater to the extreme pacifists in their party.
