Officer Asked to Leave Class for Wearing His Uniform, Gun

A Jefferson Parish police officer and a student at Loyola University, Sgt. Josh Collins, went to school in his uniform with his weapon because he didn’t have time to change. The professor pulled him aside during the break and said a student complained so he called the campus police. The campus police, however, said they wouldn’t come since he was an officer.

The professor asked him to hide his weapon which he wasn’t going to do so the professor asked him to leave.

Why wouldn’t a student feel comfortable with an officer with a gun? Honestly, I’ve been in class with students wearing their gang colors and no one said a word.
