The Obama administration’s micromanaging of all executive agencies and departments has led to long-lasting, deep-seated cultural changes as one unnamed Pentagon official put it.
One possible structural change to our counterterrorism operations at the FBI was outlined in 2009 by a renowned intelligence gathering agency.
In June 2009, Director Blue reported that STRATFOR Research indicated the FBI was ordered to be very careful about pursuing any investigations into attacks by Black Muslim converts, beginning with the case of Abdulhakim Muhammad.
The murder of a soldier and wounding of another by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad could have been avoided. He was brought to the FBIs attention months before but counterterrorism teams appear to have been intentionally prevented from investigating radicalized converts to Islam.
Several weeks before, STRATFOR heard from sources that the FBI and other law enforcement organizations had been ordered to “back off” of counterterrorism investigations into the activities of Black Muslim converts. At this point, it is unclear to us if that guidance was given by the White House or the Department of Justice, or if it was promulgated by the agencies themselves, anticipating the wishes of President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.
..politics have proved obstructive to all facets of counterterrorism policy. And politics may have been at play in the Muhammad case as well as in other cases involving Black Muslim converts…
Pvt. William Long
The shooting at the Little Rock recruiting office took place on June 1, 2009. When the American Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, born Carlos Leon Bledsoe, opened fire with a rifle in a drive-by shooting on soldiers in front of a United States military recruiting office in Little Rock, Arkansas, he killed Private William Long and wounded Private Quinton Ezeagwula.
After his arrest, Muhammad acknowledged shooting the men. He told police that he had intended to kill as many Army personnel as possible.
He claimed that he was sent on the attacks by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and pleaded guilty to the charges of capital murder.
There was no federal investigation and it was labeled an “awful killing.”
Barack Obama’s statement:
“I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”
Around the same time, Obama’s reaction to the death of Dr. Tiller, who was performing late term abortions, was far more dramatic and it was immediate unlike his response to the death and wounding of the two soldiers which took days:
“I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.”
Nadal Hasan, who received his $300,000 in back pay after the executions.
When radical jihadist Nadal Hasan executed 13 people and wounded 31 others in November 2009, the obvious terror attack was classified as “workplace violence”. Before making his statement about the tragic jihadist attack, he gave a weird shout out to a Native-American Congressional Medal of Honor winner who wasn’t a Congressional Medal of Honor winner.
Hasan’s terrorist rantings were known to brass but he was promoted and allowed to continue. PC was blamed by many at the time.
The wounded and deceased from the attack only received their purple hearts and benefits as victims of terror this past month after waging a tireless and heart-wrenching campaign.
The Boston Bombers weren’t converts but they were Islamists who were ignored by the FBI, even after being warned twice by Russian intelligence. One FBI agent even met with the elder brother but the case appeared to end there.
After the radical jihadists,Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, set off bombs at the Boston Marathon in April 15 2013, Obama talked about the event in his weekly address on the 20th.
“On Monday, an act of terror wounded dozens and killed three innocent people at the Boston Marathon. But in the days since, the world has witnessed one sure and steadfast truth: Americans refuse to be terrorized.”
He refused to call it an attack by radical jihadists. There has never been an adequate explanation as to why these two were ignored.
October, 2014, a hatchet-swinging Islamic militant, Zale Thompson aka Zaim Farouq Abdul-Malik, brought a hatchet down on the head of Officer Kenneth Healey, 25.
The statement from law enforcement is as it always is – an immediate proclamation that he was a lone killer. Feds are rarely brought in.
There was no White House statement, just this excerpt from the October White House Press Briefing:
Reporter: My second question is, was the President briefed on the attack in New York against the police officers yesterday?
Mr. Earnest: The President was informed of the situation by Lisa Monaco last night.
Reporter: And what’s the White House reaction?
Mr. Earnest: This is a situation that is under investigation by the New York Police Department, local law enforcement authorities. Officials here at the White House and other federal law enforcement officials have been in touch with local law enforcement on this matter, but it’s still under investigation so I don’t have too much to say about it at this point.
There was no White House statement when Ali Muhammad Brown (photo above) killed Leroy Henderson and later Dwone Anderson-Young and Ahmed Said after he acknowledged he was killing in a “mission” of “vengeance” in accord with his Muslim beliefs.
In fact, the case just disappeared.
When radical jihadist Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley (photo above) killed two police officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, President Obama issued the following statement but did not post it to the White House blog.
“I unconditionally condemn today’s murder of two police officers in New York City. Two brave men won’t be going home to their loved ones tonight, and for that, there is no justification. The officers who serve and protect our communities risk their own safety for ours every single day–and they deserve our respect and gratitude every single day. Tonight, I ask people to reject violence and words that harm, and turn to words that heal–prayer, patient dialogue, and sympathy for the friends and family of the fallen.”
There was no mention of the fact that the killer was a radicalized Islamist who killed the two men because they were police officers.
By way of contrast, we know Mr. Obama can get more emotive. When Michael Brown was killed after robbing a convenience store, roughing up the clerk and attacking a police officer, Obama issued this statement posted to the White House blog:
“The death of Michael Brown is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and his community at this very difficult time. As Attorney General Holder has indicated, the Department of Justice is investigating the situation along with local officials, and they will continue to direct resources to the case as needed…”
When Colleen Hufford of Oklahoma (photo above) was beheaded and another woman almost beheaded last October by yet another black Muslim convert, Obama’s minions honored the members of Nolen’s Mosque for their work with families after the devastation from a tornado the year before. The timing was interesting.
Alton Nolen’s Facebook page was filled with jihadist rants but we weren’t allowed to speak of it. The media was careful not to say too much.
When radical jihadists brutally kill Americans, even liberals, he goes golfing or makes an inane spoof video. Mr. Obama continually releases GITMO war criminals while the war is still going on though many will go back to the battlefield.
His desire to not have a prisoner of war facility is the same as his desire to not recognize radical Islam or war or black criminals, especially if they’re Muslim. His extremist views are no different than Code Pinks or Bill Ayers or Rev. Wright.
Whether he is closing down the investigations before they happen is an unanswered question. He isn’t acknowledging them as what they are when they do occur. He doesn’t allow investigations after they are caught as in the case of the Underwear Bomber, who had ties to Anwar al-Awlaki and others is AQAP. The Nigerian bomber was given a lawyer and he stopped talking after first being cooperative.
In 2009, STRATFOR wrote that Many FBI supervisors are reluctant to authorize investigations that they believe may have negative blow-back on their career advancement. In light of this institutional culture, and the order to be careful in investigations relating to Black Muslim converts, it would not be at all surprising to us if a supervisor refused to authorize a full-field investigation of Muhammad that would have included surveillance of his activities… Had the FBI opened a full-field investigation on Muhammad, and had it conducted surveillance on him, it would have been able to watch him participate in preoperational activities such as conducting surveillance of potential targets and obtaining weapons.
It’s a dangerous form of political correctness.
If an order wasn’t given, an implicit policy appears to exist and deep cultural changes have taken place in all the once-independent executive agencies.
