Paul Ryan Calls Upon Conservatives to Surrender

Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan spoke at the Heritage Foundation to rally the forces on the right and ask conservatives to unite with the establishment until the election. There is nothing the GOP can do right now to fight Obama’s agenda about the Obama agenda.

Schools are closed in New York City today because it’s the Chinese New Year. They also close for two Muslim holidays because we are adapting to all the other peoples and cultures who decide to live in New York. The Hindus are now lobbying for their holiday. I’m sure their cultures are wonderful but the problem is we are being fundamentally transformed by leftists and this is part of the plan. There are so many millions pouring into our country from foreign lands that they cannot assimilate and that is the idea.

Paul Ryan appeared to surrender to the Obama agenda during the speech at Heritage and, coincidentally of course, after meeting with the White House and Mitch McConnell. Rumors circulated after that meeting that they came to an understanding that they would let Obama’s agenda go forward unimpeded until November.

We always have to wait for the next election with no indication anything will change.

During his meeting at Heritage, Ryan explained that there is nothing the GOP can do and we should stop fooling ourselves. We must unite and cling to our vision. Fine, what vision is that?

Speaker Ryan apparently never heard of the power of the purse. He hasn’t considered suing or going around Obama the way he goes around them.

He wants conservatives to sit down, clam up, and wait it out until November when we can hopefully get a Republican elected. Ryan wants us to trust the GOP as they try to be bad versions of Democrats under the false assumption that they can woo Democrats and left-leaning Independents away from the stranglehold the far left has on them.

He has a point though. If we hope to save our country and our Republic, this is our last chance, if it’s not too late, that is. perhaps we do need to follow Ryan’s advice and that’s a decision we will all make on election day.

Ryan is correct that we must have a positive agenda but what is it? I want to know before I sign up. They’ve fooled me before.

Now Ryan is going to do less than nothing? Rubber stamp a far left agenda? Are they deaf?

We will have to see what they actually do and I don’t want to jump all over him but this isn’t looking good, especially after that trillion dollar plus Cromnibus.

He wants conservatives to stop asking for the impossible.

“When voices in the conservative movement demand things that they know we can’t achieve with a Democrat in the White House, all that does is depress our base and in turn help Democrats stay in the White House. We can’t do that anymore.”

If he is talking about the sham bills to repeal Obamacare, we can all probably agree with that.

Ryan wants us to count on some vision when we aren’t even clear what their vision is anymore.

“I don’t want to set us up for failure. I want to set us up for success. That’s something we all can work on—together. And the way to do that is to unify around a vision. We need to define the horizon we’re aiming for….”

He is correct when he says that Obama is going to distract us with arguments about guns and other hot button issues, however, Ryan’s seeming promise to do nothing for the rest of the year will not be popular.

How he could think this will unite us is perplexing. We want to hear fighting words. We want to know they will fight for our principles instead of talking compromise, Common Core, fixing Obamacare, growing government, taxing and regulating, controlling private lands, amnesty, and we want to know they will fight for the Constitution.

Ryan thinks Obama is struggling to be relevant but he is in fact continuing to implement his far left agenda and infiltrate every government agency with his ideology.

“This president is struggling to remain relevant in an election year when he’s not on the ballot. He is going to do all he can to elect another progressive by distracting the American people. So he’s going to try to get us talking about guns or some other hot-button issue and not about his failures on ISIS or the economy or national security. He’s going to try to knock us off our game. We have to understand his distractions for what they are. Otherwise, we’re going to have a distraction this week, next week, and the week after that. And that’s going to be the Obama playbook all year long.

When I hear Ryan say he is a Ronald Reagan conservative, I don’t hear Ronald Reagan talking about liberty, the Constitution, our values. This is what he said and you can determine for yourself.

“I’m a Jack Kemp, Ronald Reagan conservative. They both understood we need to be talking about what our vision is and how we can make it a reality. We need to raise our gaze. That’s how you move America forward. And that’s what I want to talk to you about.

“Let’s cut to the chase: There are a lot of people hurting in America right now. They don’t think the promise of this country is real for them. The American Idea—that the condition of your birth, it does not determine the outcome of your life—a lot of people don’t think that’s true anymore. And if the American Idea is not true for everybody, then it is not true at all.

Ryan talks of uniting and some of us hear “surrender”.

I ride around New York City and am surrounded by foreigners. The same goes for when I’m in DC.  Don’t get me wrong, I fully support immigration and love immigrants, just not those who come here illegally and in such large numbers that they cannot be assimilated. I’m the foreigner in my own land and this movement is spreading throughout the country. The unassimilated foreigners from totalitarian lands will transform us into a different nation, one we probably won’t like. We are the last bastion of freedom or should I say “were”?

As I rode through New York City, I took some photos, check out my dirty city being run into the ground by the communist mayor. It has gone downhill in less than two years under a leftist mayor.

  1. I agree with this analysis. Ryan is merely providing more cover for himself and his party, giving excuses to not fight Obama, when he agrees with much of Obama’s agenda, or does not care about it. Notice his claim that republicans are being made upset by all of the rebellious talk going on, rather than the actual events in DC. He is blaming the symptom for the problem. He has no credibility.
