“The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
~ Barack Obama, 2007

President Obama is planning to spend a few days punishing Assad for his use of chemical weapons. It is unclear if he will hit any of the chemical weapons facilities or even knows where they are. There are indications that Assad is moving his arms.

Mr. Obama did not want to include Congress in the decision but will now meet with them. Senator John RINO McCain said Obama can start a war unilaterally.

The coalition Mr. Obama has put together includes Britain which has pulled back, France, and the Islamist-run Turkey. It is possible the president will do nothing after he conveyed all his sophomoric plans to the world in a bizarre advance-notice to the enemy.

On October 9, 2009, President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his “extraordinary efforts” to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” He had been on the job for nine months and hadn’t done a thing.

Upon receiving his award, he talked about going to war only if it was a “just war,” meaning the war must meet philosophical, religious or political criteria.

How about a war that follows our Constitution? Only the American people, through their representatives in Congress, can decide to go to war but Mr. Obama doesn’t seem to think the law is important.

President Obama is going to war with Syria or maybe he’s just going to lob a few missiles into Syria or maybe he will do nothing. He will brief senior members of Congress. I imagine they will be hand-selected. It’s hard to know.

Even though he is going to war without the permission of Congress, you will be reassured to know that he has asked the North Atlantic Treaty Organization how they feel about it.

Mr. Obama said he consulted with some members of Congress but we are not allowed to know who those people are. How transparent!

Israel checked with the Knesset, Britain checked with Parliament, and Obama checked with the UN. Sounds about right.

When Bush went to war with Iraq, he had more than 60% of the approval of Congress, including Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. Everyone on the left later said they were lied to even though Bush made the decision based on the best intel he had, intel they also reviewed.

One pundit said, well, of course Mr. Obama is not going to bring it before Congress since Congress has very low approval numbers. THAT’S A REASON TO VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION?!?

We also don’t know whose side we are on. Most reports say that al Qaeda (or their affiliates, which is the same thing) are interspersed with most of the rebel groups and are actually leading the Free Syrian Army.

Basically, we will be on the side of al Qaeda in this fight.

Former Democratic Senator Dennis Kucinich said we are now al Qaeda’s air force. Pretty much!

The first thing our enemies plan to do is bomb Israel. Israelis have called up the reserves and are rushing out for gas masks to prepare for impending retaliation.

Hossein Shariatmadari, editor of an Ayotallah-controlled newspaper in Iran, wrote that, “with the start of an attack on Syria, thousands of missiles will rain down all over the occupied lands (Israel).”

The tragedy that has befallen the Syrians is heartbreaking but our president should be following the rule of law. Do we now go into every country that is suffering under cruel dictators? That’s a lot of countries. In the past, we were guided by the rule of law. We used to go into countries to protect US interests or at least that was the case before we became lawless.

After sending warships, Mr. Obama said today that he is still deciding what to do.

While Obama is deciding, he is communicating to everyone every step he is taking, including saying that he is not going after Assad and not trying to force regime change. He has said that the attack will be brief and even communicated the coordinates. The only time he is transparent is when he’s helping the enemy.

He also said the goal is not to harm or remove Assad. So what’s the point?

Mr. Obama shouldn’t allow the media to dictate, but rather bide his time, find out where some of these weapons are and blow them up.

He also needs to go to Congress. He is not the US dictator.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said the foreign policy of the West is like “a monkey with a hand grenade.” It’s hard to argue with that.

Joe Biden said he’d move to impeach Mr. Obama if he went to war without congressional approval. Yea! Let’s get rolling Joe!
