Roto-Reuters reported something I agree with. The statute of limitation laws might end up protecting pedophiles whose victims are young and frequently don’t report the abuse for years after the event. There is no time limit on the damage that is done to the victims.
Why should there be a statute of limitations for the crime of Pedophilia, a most heinous crime against the most innocent? The crime is a repugnant assault on young people who can’t protect themselves.
There are those who might look for a payday once a pedophile is identified, but maybe we have to do a better job of going after the frauds as opposed to relaxing laws meant to protect victims.
