Pope Francis is a man of God and he always speaks of peace, love and reconciliation, but this Sunday he had harsher words for ISIS. The Pope said people cannot call on God to commit crimes.
ISIS is committing horrendous war crimes in the name of Allah. They have declared the Yazidis to be devil worshippers as an excuse to annihilate them when they themselves are Satanic.
On Sunday Pope Francis expressed “dismay and disbelief” over the violence in Iraq. He called on the world “to stop these crimes” against “the thousands of people, including Christians, who have been brutally forced from their homes, children who have died from thirst during the escape and women who have been seized.”
The Pope also spoke of “the destruction of religious, historic and cultural treasures.”
He called for a political solution saying, the world must find “an efficient political solution that can stop these crimes and re-establish the rule of law.” He is sending his personal emissary, Cardinal Fernando Filoni, to Iraq to show solidarity with Christians.
He also said that the Islamic State fighters are taking advantage of the power vacuum “to impose their rule and terror. There is a need of international support and a professional, well-equipped army. The situation is going from bad to worse.”
The power vacuum was left by the United States.
Catholic News Service reported that Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, the spokesman, told reporters the pope was appealing “to the conscience of all people and every believer,” repeating what he had said July 20 after a similar forced exodus of Christians from Mosul: “May the God of peace create in all an authentic desire for dialogue and reconciliation. Violence is not conquered with violence. Violence is conquered with peace. Let us pray in silence, asking for peace.”
They need the well-equipped army more than the message of “dialogue and reconciliation”.
President Obama could easily arm the Kurds but he went to Martha’s Vineyard without laying out any type of strategy. Mr. Obama continually calls for Iraqis to take care of the situation themselves, we can’t do it, but the Kurds are willing to do it and he won’t equip them. He says the United States will help but the help they need is armaments.
Even the Pope, the man of peace, is calling for a well-equipped army.
There are those who want us to coexist with these people. Make peace not war even if it means torture, certain annihilation or imprisonment.
The following are examples of ISIS destruction. They cannot be reasoned with and there is no political solution except at the point of a gun.
