Jared Monti and his battalion deserved a better speech than President Obama gave, though the President followed it with an apology. This is something you cannot get wrong as President, no matter what your party.
President Obama praised Jared Monti, a Medal of Honor winner, as one winner who actually returned. In actuality, the soldier, Jared Monti, did not return. Jared Monti received the award posthumously. The President was speaking to Jared Monti’s battalion.
President Obama said: I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.
I guess the President is seeing spirits. Can you imagine if President Bush said this? The President apologized and gave a decent speech afterwards, but how do you believe him after this? Jared Monti’s father accepted the President’s personal apology.
