Three senators led a bipartisan effort to roll back Obama policies with Cuba. The Daily Caller announced Monday that behind-the-scenes efforts of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) are responsible for pushing Trump to address the issue.
Obama loosened restrictions on travel and doing business in Cuba. In fact, we share intel with them and we got nothing in return for our magnanimous gesture.
President Trump will roll back Obama’s policies and make the announcement in Miami in June before Cuban immigrants and their families.
An anti-embargo group, speaking on the condition of anonymity, provided the information which was confirmed Sunday by John Kavulich of the nonpartisan U.S. – Cuba Trade and Economic Council. “The Trump Administration has been ‘ready’ since February 2017 to announce changes, but issues unrelated to Cuba have intervened,” Kavulich said.
Trump’s administration launched a “full review” of Cuban policy at Trump’s behest. This appears to be the result.
