Putin says the USA is a parasite. Does the USA’s refusal to cut excessive spending while borrowing from communists qualify as greed, parasitism, stupidity, a little of all three? Has the United States become a “parasite?” Is an entitlement society (which is what we are becoming) magnanimous or is it thralldom?
I do think Putin is ignoring the fact that his entire population lives to feed his dictatorship and that most socialist countries in Europe are as parasitical as “democracies” can be, but does he have a point when he calls us parasites?
Reuters reports that Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, accused the United States of living off the global economy like a “parasite,” adding that the dollars threatens the stability of financial markets.
Putin said, “They are living beyond their means and shifting a part of the weight of their problems to the world economy,” Putin told a Kremlin youth group while touring its summer camp north of Moscow.
“They are living like parasites off the global economy and their monopoly of the dollar.”
Putin said that Russia and China own a lot of U.S. bonds and treasuries so what happens in the U.S. affects them drastically.
Reuters also added that the relationship between the United States and Russia has warmed under Obama so I don’t know how much Reuters can be trusted. I am not sure how friendly and warm I want us to be with a communist dictator, but judging from Putin’s behavior, I would say Reuters needs a reality check. That’s just an aside.
