Rep. Stockman Threatens Obama With Impeachment

Despite having no chance of ever getting a guilty verdict in the Democrat controlled United States Senate, Texas Representative Steve Stockman says he may go so far as filing articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he elects to use President powers to alter the U.S. Constitution.

Blogging veteran, Pat Dollard had this report:

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX)

Excerpted from Politico: Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) is threatening to file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he moves to change gun regulations through executive order.

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said.

In a statement, Stockman didn’t hold back, saying Obama is launching an “attack on the very founding principles of this republic.”

“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation,” Stockman said in a statement.  “The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years.  The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny.  Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.”

Quite frankly I’m surprised this threat wasn’t issued long ago, seeing as how the entire world knew that the President fully intended on using “executive powers” to advance his political agenda by totally avoiding Congress – and most especially, the House of Representatives.

It’s as plain as the nose on my face that Obama has tested the waters with Executive Orders several times and has gotten away with it and now he intends to put his newly defined “power” to the ultimate test – neutering the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights.

I say the chance of a guilty decision is next to impossible because there are at least 55 Obama Democrats in the Senate and a couple of more moderate Democrats masquerading as Republicans, who would do exactly the same thing they did for President Bill Clinton – vote party before anything else.

One other interesting point:  Articles of impeachment would very likely include the administration’s mishandling of the Fast and Furious gun-running fiasco, along with the total disaster at Benghazi.  It has been over two years since the Fast and Furious debacle and going on four months since four Americans died at  Benghazi – all without an appropriate explanation in defense of alleged wrongdoing.  The fact that Attorney General Eric Holder was found in Contempt Of Congress for failing to provide documents subpoenaed by a Congressional Committee investigating the matter certainly lends itself to followup.

The House of Representatives is a pain in the a$$ to the Obama administration and they’ve taken to ignoring the representatives and Obama loves to say things like “The Congress refuses to act, so I have to”, when in fact that very same Congress has told him “NO”.
