Obama obliterated al Qaeda so rest assured his strategy to destroy ISIS will operate the same way.
We were assured “this was the moment.”
President Obama thought al-Qaeda was “on the run” and ISIS was a JV (Junior Varsity) team.
Josh Earnest says Obama didn’t say what he said:
As he did with Benghazi, President Obama blamed the CIA for underestimating the ISIS threat. The CIA must have sent the talking points stating ISIS is just a JV team.
Director John Brennan dutifully fell on his sword the week before.
FBI Director James Comey said there are 12 ISIS here but we can’t keep them from coming back if they have a U.S passport. They will be tracked.
David Cameron in the U.K. is banning their re-entry. We’re not even banning naturalized citizens.
John Kerry talked about ISIS militants who have U.S. passports and attempt to return at a congressional hearing three weeks ago.
“What I want to make certain,” Kerry told the congressional panel, “is that anybody who has a passport [and joins with ISIS] ‘who returns, returns in handcuffs – not through customs with their passport.’”
“I don’t think these guys are ten feet tall,” he said later.
He added a caveat.
“We … need to do that with sensitivity to certain investigations that may be going on,” said Kerry, “because you don’t want to flag something.”
In the same hearing, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said that “the suspension of passports should be considered on a case-by-case basis,” not with a law that drives every circumstance toward a single outcome.
“Suspension and revocation of passports can be done on an expedited basis when the situation warrants, in a matter of hours or days,” he said.
Are you confused yet?
Congressman Tim Bishop said there were 40 ISIS here. He was probably releasing top secret information while trying to show off.
Go to 01:12 mark:
A few weeks after this, Bishop said, they might come here. Dementia?
This summer, Gov. Rick Perry said that ISIS were coming across the border. He was ridiculed by such left-wing outfits as Yahoo News.
Last month, Judicial Watch got their hands on an FBI warning that ISIS was in Juarez. The White House immediately disavowed the warning.
Rep. Duncan Hunter said last week that 10 ISIS militants were caught at our U.S.-Mexico border in the last month. Four were caught in the last 36 hours.
Speaking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Jeh Johnson, Director of the Homeland Security, said the opposite of Rep. Hunter: “We have no credible, specific intelligence to that effect”. He called on American leaders to “not unduly create fear and anxiety in the American public by passing on speculation and rumor.”
“I look at the intelligence reports from overseas from our southern border from our intelligence community virtually every day, numerous times a day, to be on the lookout for something of that nature. So, what I’d say to the American public is we’re vigilant in looking out for individuals of suspicion who may be crossing our border.”
Is the Department of Homeland Security’s job to calm us down like the CDC or tell us the truth? We’d have to ask them.
Heck, ISIS are just JV anyway.
A senior Homeland Security (DHS) official confirmed to Congress last Wednesday that militants associated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) are planning to enter the United States via the porous southern border.
Francis Taylor, under secretary for intelligence and analysis at DHS, told senators during a hearing that ISIL supporters are known to be plotting ways to infiltrate the United States through the border, reported the Washington Free Beacon.
“There have been Twitter, social media exchanges among ISIL adherents across the globe speaking about that as a possibility,” Taylor told Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) in response to a question about “recent reports on Twitter and Facebook of messages that would urge infiltration into the U.S. across our southwestern border.”
“I’m satisfied we have the intelligence and the capability on our border that would prevent that activity,” Taylor said.
However, McCain was dubious, referring to recent videos released by activist James O’Keefe showing him crossing the border while wearing an Osama bin Laden mask.
Asked by McCain why agents did not stop O’Keefe, Taylor could not provide an answer.
“You can’t answer it because they weren’t there to stop him,” McCain responded.
“The fact is there are thousands of people who are coming across our border who are undetected and not identified, and for you to sit there and tell me that we have the capability or now have the proper protections of our southwest border, particularly in light of the urgings over Facebook and Twitter [by ISIL] for people to come across our southwestern border, is a great concern to the citizens of my state.”
Taylor admitted that more must be done to shore up border security in light of ongoing threats.
“The security at the southwestern border is of great concern to the department and I certainly understand the concerns of the citizens of your state,” he told McCain. “If I gave you the impression I thought the border security was what it needed to be to protect against all the risks coming across the state that’s not what I meant to say.”
There is little evidence to prove that ISIL militants or other terror actors would be stopped if they attempt to cross the border, McCain said.
Obama, who was without a strategy until recently, plans to destroy them one blown-up pickup truck at a time. Last Saturday, Oct. 4, day 58 of the American campaign against ISIS, U.S. aircraft destroyed two tanks, three Humvees, one bulldozer, and an unidentified vehicle.
This non-war against the enemy we can’t name is going to take some time.
