Russia Fake News Stories Leave the Media Rushing for New Fake Stories

Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that trust had eroded between the United States and Russia under President Donald Trump. The media said tensions are very high and nothing is going the right way. Putin won’t meet with Trump, they screamed from the front pages. The sky is falling!

Putin used the language of the left to get the left-wing media coverage in this country to side with him.

The Russian President said it’s the worst crisis we’ve had in decades between the U.S. and Russia.

“One could say that the level of trust on a working level, especially on the military level, has not improved but has rather deteriorated,” Putin said in an interview broadcast on Russian television moments after Tillerson sat down with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an ornate hall.

A senior Russian official assailed the “primitiveness and loutishness” of U.S. rhetoric, and the media said it was part of a volley of statements that appeared timed to maximize the awkwardness during the first visit by a member of Trump’s cabinet.

Moments earlier, Lavrov greeted Tillerson with unusually icy remarks, denouncing the missile strike on Syria as illegal and accusing Washington of behaving unpredictably.

“I won’t hide the fact that we have a lot of questions, taking into account the extremely ambiguous and sometimes contradictory ideas which have been expressed in Washington across the whole spectrum of bilateral and multilateral affairs,” Lavrov said.

“And of course, that’s not to mention that apart from the statements, we observed very recently the extremely worrying actions, when an illegal attack against Syria was undertaken.”

That killed the Russian-Trump collusion story and had the left-wing media rushing to stories of Trump ruining our relationship with Putin and of Trump’s missing tax returns.

But, oh, wait, Putin just met with Rex Tillerson. Oh dear, what to say now.

The NY Times says Putin “kept him waiting” and relations are “tense”. “Relations between the two countries have grown so tense that it was unclear whether the meeting would happen.”

CNN said the meeting is taking place “as a diplomatic rift between the two nations deepens over a chemical attack in Syria.”

While those stories are not wrong, they are one-sided and leave out Trump’s tough talk and the fact that he deserves some credit for standing up to this dictator.

Media opined that Russia “warned” Tillerson against any further strikes on Syria.

Russian bombers are flying near Japan so that should give some fodder to the left.

Fox’s reporting was balanced:

Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Moscow, Fox News has learned.

A U.S. embassy spokesperson confirmed the meeting.

Tillerson originally was only slated to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.

Trump also told Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo that Putin is backing “an evil person” in Syria, and it’s “very bad for Russia.”

At the same time, Trump made clear he’s pushing for peace in Syria. He said, “we’re not going into Syria,” but said pressure will be on Russia to ensure peace.

“If Russia didn’t go in and back this animal, you wouldn’t have a problem right now,” he said…et cetera

Right now we are seeing a lot of saber-rattling. Everyone seems to know that except the left-wing fakestream media. If something good comes out of this, the media will go back to the collusion stories.
