Now known as the Russian Rambo, Alexander Prokhorenko, 25, a special services soldier was identifying targets for the military in Syria as they were attempting to take back Palmyra when he was surrounded by ISIS with no way out. Remarkably, he called an airstrike on himself to destroy ISIS.

When the terrorists discovered Prokhorenko’s position and began to surround him, he made a crucial decision which would earn him the nickname of the “Russian Rambo” across the globe.

“They are close, I am surrounded, this may be the end, tell my family I love them dearly,” a transcript said to have been issued by Prokhorenko, according to World in War. “I am surrounded, they are so many of these bast**ds … They are outside, conduct the airstrike now please hurry, this is the end, tell my family I love them and I died fighting for my motherland.”

He explained.

“I don’t want them to take me and parade me, conduct the airstrike, they will make a mockery of me and this uniform,” the “Russian Rambo” allegedly said. “I want to die with dignity and take all these bast**ds with me. Please my last wish, conduct the airstrike, they will kill me either way.”

When the base asked for confirmation, he said, “They are outside, this is the end commander, thank you, tell my family and my country I love them. Tell them I was brave and I fought until I could no longer. Please take care of my family, avenge my death, good bye commander, tell my family I love them.”

The governor of the Orenburg region where Yuri Berg lived said, “It’s so hard. It’s impossible to convey the grief of his parents in words. Together we mourn the death of our fellow countryman, his name will remain forever in our hearts, it will be immortalized,” adding that one of the streets in Orenburg will be named after the hero, while the administration of his home village also suggested renaming the school Aleksandr went to after him, Russia Today reported.

Three Palmyra towns were retaken.

Alexander Prokhorenko always wanted to be a soldier and serve his country.

  1. I’ve seen videos of what these a-holes have done to captured Russian soldiers and it isn’t pretty. My hats off to him and hope the state takes care of his wife and child.

    RIP Alex
