Chuck Schumer said the number one thing Democrats did wrong during the election was to not tell people what Democrats stand for. Right now, Democrats stand for resisting Trump and Schumer said while people like that, but they also need a positive platform.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows a majority — 52% of Americans — sees the Democratic Party as a party that stands against Trump, while only 37% consider it a party that stands for something.

“They know we’re standing up to Trump,” Schumer said, pointing to the poll. “They like that. But they want to know what do you stand for?”

Schumer’s plan is to win back the working class Democrats lost in the last election by putting out a new economic plan called ‘A Better Plan for America’.

Schumer threw Hillary under the bus

“Why don’t Americans know where the Democrats stand and is that your fault?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Well, it is in part our fault. When you lose an election with someone who has, say, 40 percent popularity, you look in the mirror and say, ‘What did we do wrong?'” Schumer said. “The No. 1 thing that we did wrong is we didn’t have—we didn’t tell people what we stood for.”

Schumer has been out suggesting Hillary screwed it up. He  took a shot at Clinton in an interview with the Washington Post published Saturday, saying “you blame yourself” when you lose to someone as unpopular as Donald Trump, not James Comey or Russia.

Schumer’s going to present the Democrat’s new plan which looks like the old plan

He listed the platitudes they stand for which sounds like a re-hashing of the old platitudes.

Democrats will create 10 million American jobs, lower drug prices, and stop mergers, he said.

Schumer is hijacking a number of Trump’s promises but his method of dealing with the problems is the Democrat’s old method. Here they are:

First, Democrats are going to lower drug prices through negotiation. They are going to appoint an independent agency to control drug companies. More big government is the usual stock answer.

Second, they will disallow corporate mergers and appoint a “consumer competition advocate” to crack down on anti-competitive behavior. That’s odd since Democrats don’t like competition. They are concerned about mergers in airlines, cable, internet, phone, beer, food and eyeglass industries. They want more big government to control all that.

Third, to get 10 million jobs, which they could not do for the past 8 years, they will escalate what they’ve already tried – job training with federal tax dollars. Also, what will result in creating more close ties between government and corporations, Democrats will give tax credits – corporate welfare – to companies that train new workers and expand partnerships with businesses and schools. That will include cronyism by its very nature.

Listen to Schumer suggest it was Hillary’s fault, not Russia’s or Comey’s.
