On Thursday afternoon, a student opened fire at Price Middle School in Atlanta, wounding a 14-year-old in the neck. It is reported there was bad blood between the two students. An armed officer working at the school was able to get the gun away, possibly avoiding a mass shooting. [Salt Lake Tribune]

This is an argument in favor of placing armed guards in schools, or even allowing teachers to arm themselves, but Piers Morgan, whose only goal in life appears to garner ratings, blathered unreasonably about the armed guard not being able to prevent the gun from going off at all:

Piers Morgan, who left England in disgrace for disgraceful journalism, would undoubtedly prefer the scissors defense technique recommended by DHS in their instructional video:

via NY Post

The video, titled “Options for Consideration,” begins with the Virginia Tech massacre, Fort Hood and Aurora and then launches into instructions as to what to do if caught in the open in an active shooter sitaution. They want people to grab a pair of scissors. They also advise people to run away, hide under a desk or take cover out of the line of fire.

Wow, who would have thought of that???

Our tax dollars funded this.
