Senator Sheldon Whitehouse wants to prosecute global warming deniers. He wants scientists, TV outlets, the “vast denial apparatus” sued and he hopes to see some in a federal pen.
Last year, the Rhode Island senator wrote an op-ed urging the U.S. Department of Justice to consider filing a racketeering suit against the oil and coal industries for having promoted wrongful thinking on climate change, with the activities of ‘conservative policy’ groups targeted as well.
Senator Whitehouse, not a particularly bright light intellectually, refers to the “climate denial scheme” and wants to know when deniers will be arrested under RICO statues. The Fascist-lite senator pressed the Attorney General on it Wednesday during a hearing.
The good senator raised a comparison between possible civil action against climate change deniers and civil action that the Clinton administration pursued against the tobacco industry for claiming that the science behind the dangers of tobacco was unsettled.
AG Loretta Lynch said the FBI is looking into it.
“This matter has been discussed. We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action on,” Lynch said at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Justice Department operations.
THE FBI IS LOOKING INTO IT?
If anyone doesn’t fall for the scheme, these leftists are ready to use force. They want to criminalize thought that differs from theirs.
Last year, twenty scientists wrote a letter asking Barack Obama to prosecute deniers.
There isn’t a scam against the global warming enterprise as he believes, but the global warming enterprise is grabbing more than a pinch of our freedom and our money.
Watch Loretta Lynch say the FBI is looking into it. [Exxon is a big target of the left-wing extreme environmentalists – SHOCKER!]
This is what he said last June.
In a Washington Post article last June, Whitehouse compared global warming deniers and the fossil fuel industry to the tobacco industry, calling for them to be charged under the RICO Act.
The tobacco industry was prosecuted for racketeering after they misled the public about the dangers of tobacco. Many of the things he accused the deniers of doing are things his global warming industry does – Climategate being one example.
The RICO Act was used to break up the mobs which is what he must believe climate deniers are. Free speech is not allowed if you deny his take on things which some of us think is extreme.
He apparently believes that coordinating “a wide range of activities, including political lobbying, contributions to political candidates, and a large number of communication and media efforts” are racketeering and not our First Amendment rights.
The global warming fascists have to go to great lengths to keep their computer-generated theory alive. Investors posted a succinct response after the article appeared: The climate models they base their argument on have failed. The storms they predicted haven’t arrived. The snow hasn’t stopped. The poles aren’t melting. A look around the world simply fails to turn up any of the disasters they’ve predicted. So they’re having to go to great lengths to keep the story alive.
Charles Krauthammer addressed it Thursday evening on Fox News’s Special Report.
