Six Flags Turns Away Iraq War Vet for Wearing Marine Shirt With a Gun

What kind of business turns away a veteran of the Iraq war because they don’t like his Marine T-Shirt?

Is this still America? Not in New Jersey apparently.

U.S. veteran and father of three, Mario Alejandro, was refused entry to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey because of a shirt his children gave him for Father’s Day which they purchased through the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation. The money supports Recon Marines and their families.

This shirt featuring an M-16 rifle and the words ‘Keep Calm and Return Fire’ was allegedly deemed inappropriate by the Fascist Six Flags security, consequently denying U.S. veteran Mario Alejandro entry Saturday.

The park didn’t seem to care that they were offending our Marine veteran and his family and so many others.

Alejandro said he first thought it was a joke.

The shirt, which he said was a Father’s Day gift from his children, was purchased through the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation. Its proceeds help support Recon Marines and their families.

This is what was written on the back of the shirt.

The security guard grabbed Mr. Alejandro as he was entering with his family and told him that the shirt was offensive, but Mr. Alejandro persisted.

“I said that it’s not offensive, it’s a military shirt. I told him that I am an Iraq veteran… I served in the war. But he said: ‘I don’t care, you have to take that off… or you need to buy another shirt to put over it,'” he recalled.

The guard’s supervisor, shockingly came to the same conclusion. The supervisor told him to change his shirt or leave as his wife and son began to cry. He grudgingly agreed.

Six Flags is reviewing the situation but stated that they “have a dress code against vulgar, offensive, or violent images or wording.”

The Marine Recon Foundation wrote this on their Facebook page:

“One of our supporters was denied entry to Six Flags Great Adventures for wearing a shirt that supports the MRF,” they wrote on their Facebook page Thursday. “We said this shirt would be limited, but we’re re-releasing it. Stand by for the link.”
