New Special Counsel Robert Mueller is not the superb choice the media and Democrats are portraying him to be. Not only did he fail during the IRS targeting scandal, he worked with radical Islamists to purge anti-terrorism training material they deemed offensive to Muslims.
His performance during the targeting scandal was not impressive.
During the IRS targeting scandal, the House investigated and published an interim report in December, 2014.
The White House at the time had decided the way to deal with the administration’s handling of the targeting accusations was to investigate itself.

The writers of the report in the House determined that the Obama administration’s investigation into the IRS scandal was still incomplete. They wrote that the administration and IRS have not been entirely cooperative.
“Only a month after Attorney General [Eric] Holder announced the administration’s investigation, then-FBI Director Robert Mueller was unable to answer basic questions about the status,” the report states. “Even as recently as July 2014, after the IRS informed Congress that it had destroyed two years of Lerner’s e-mails, the FBI continued its refusal to provide any information about its investigation,” according to the report.
Even worse, the Department of Justice was looking for ways to criminally prosecute the tax-exempt groups based on information it received from the IRS.
In still another failure, Mueller sanitized FBI training materials to please radical Islamists.
In 2013, Judicial Watch published a report which they updated in 2015 that showed the collusion with radical Islamists to purge training manuals. The reports were based on documents obtained via Judicial Watch lawsuits.
Then-Director Mueller met with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and caved to their demands.
Judicial Watch wrote that “shortly later the director assured the Muslim groups that he had ordered the removal of presentations and curricula on Islam from FBI offices nationwide”.
An example of the reason for the purge in the case of one article, was that it was allegedly “highly inflammatory and inaccurately argues the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization.” Previously, however, Mueller himself had described the Muslim Brotherhood as a group that supports terrorism in the U.S. and overseas.
Another article was removed because it claimed – correctly – that Al Qaeda is “clearly linked” to the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing. The Qur’an doesn’t allow this and therefore, the terrorists must only be described as ‘young male immigrants of Middle Eastern appearance,’ conflating Islamic Militancy with terrorism, Judicial Watch wrote.
There were many, many more examples just like those.
Mueller is as illogical as James Comey and this is the man who will judge the alleged Trump-Russia collusion and Russia interference in the election cases.
A special counsel is allowed to broaden the case to wherever he wants. This will go on for years.
“Special Counsel Mueller will have all appropriate resources to conduct a thorough and complete investigation, and I am confident that he will follow the facts, apply the law and reach a just result,” according to Rod Rosenstein.
Reuters reported that Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said it’s now a criminal investigation and they are looking at obstruction of justice, but the same article quotes Rosenstein saying there is “not the finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted.”
This is going to continue every day for the next four years.
