Steve Bannon Takes Catholic Church to the Woodshed over DACA on 60 Minutes

Steve Bannon gave an interview with 60 Minutes and was asked about how he deals with the Catholic Church’s response to DACA. Bannon is Catholic. While he respects the Pope, Cardinals and Bishops on doctrine, when it comes to “sovereignty of a nation they’re just another guy with an opinion”, he said.

The church has an invested interest in promoting illegal immigration. Because of church failings, their membership is dwindling and they need the illegal immigrants to bolster the numbers and fill the coffers.

The Church has an “economic interest in unlimited immigration.” With a declining number of Americans joining the priesthood and attending mass, “[Catholic leaders] need illegal aliens to fill the churches. That’s– it’s obvious on the face of it,” Bannon said.

CHARLIE ROSE: I remind you, a good Catholic, that Cardinal Dolan is opposed to what’s happened with DACA. Cardinal Dolan.

STEVE BANNON:  The Catholic Church has been terrible about this.

STEVE BANNON: The bishops have been terrible about this. By the way, you know why? You know why? Because unable to really– to– to– to come to grips with the problems in the Church, they need illegal aliens, they need illegal aliens to fill the churches. That’s– it’s obvious on the face of it. That’s what– the entire Catholic Bishops condemn him.

STEVE BANNON:  They have– they have an economic interest. They have an economic interest in unlimited immigration, unlimited illegal immigration. And as much as–

CHARLIE ROSE:  –that’s a tough thing to say about your church.

STEVE BANNON:  As much as I respect Cardinal Dolan and the Bishops on doctrine, this is not doctrine. This is not doctrine at all.

Steve Bannon blast the Catholic Church for… by mauriedee–

  1. Rose is trying to make headlines. The Church ignores that illegal immigration is a form of theft. I and millions of others will never return to the Church because of its left wing views, including disrespect for property rights and free speech rights.

  2. I don’t know any of the particulars but Durbin was questioning some woman regarding her “religious beliefs”. It only lasted a couple minutes and haven’t had the time to check further. Whoever the hell was the Chairman should have IMMEDIATELY shut down this questioning. NO appointee can be questioned on their religion and to do so should warrant censure by the entire Senate body.
